Chloe In Pieces Album Review: Hits and Misses
Chloe In Pieces Album Review
Hits:
- The Vocals is the best experience on In Pieces, Chloe leverages on her vocal ability to deliver a sonic project
- The production of In Pieces album leaves nothing else to be desired. It doesn’t get better than that
- The ballad on the album is mind-blowing
- Replay Value is high to a considerable extent because the album doesn’t give a one-time satisfaction upon listen.
Misses
- The Songwriting is outstanding on some tracks but too washed down on some
- The album concept is not existent on some songs on the album
- The tracklisting does not start well initially
- Some songs should never have made the album
Chlöe In Pieces Album Review
Chloe’s In Pieces Album indicates something that we already know- Chloe’s vocals and production skills are off the chart.
People like Chloe don’t come all the time. She is possessed with so much talent that is unbelievable. In Pieces is just a taste of this talent.
There are at least 6 standout songs on the album. The track listing begins incorrectly but falls back into place with “I don’t mind”
We understand Chloe’s attempt to be divergent in theme and production with “In Pieces”, but this made the album a little over the place than actually sticking to the “In Pieces” theme.
Asides this, In Pieces is one of the best debut albums of this generation. Chloe’s growth is undeniable. The album also goes beyond an experimental project and actually gives you a feeling- a sense of a part of Chloe that she shares with us.
Chloe In Pieces Album Review also indicates that it is also incredible to note that while it is an album that will grow on you, you fall in love with it even based on the first listen alone.

Here is a track by track review of Chloe’s In Pieces Album
Someone’s Calling gets us into the album. It sounds like a really good album intro, but the downward turn of the trumpets when the intro doesn’t end almost affects the beautiful intro.
It may seem that Pray it Away is Chloe’s personal favorite song on the album because she revealed that because the album direction changed when she wrote Pray it Away, she had to release it as a single.
But Pray it Away is no single material. Is the songwriting good? Definitely. Are the vocals extraordinary? Absolutely. But there is nothing that makes it better than most of the other singles on the album aside from the fact that it is gospel themed to a large extent.
Davido “Timeless” Album Review: Hits and Misses
Body do is one song that will stick to listeners more because it is a song you just want to move your body to.
The trumpets are amazing, the production on this track is sick. The song is a danceable track but it still retains the elements of the sad theme that the album carries. Body do is a certified bop.
“I don’t mind” should have been the second song on in pieces album after the intro. It has the best feel of the album so far.
The arrangement of this track is so amazing. The vocals on I don’t mind is also commendable. The chorus is also soul-reaching.
I don’t mind is the standout track so far. You try to find faults with this song, but sorry, it’s almost perfect. The continual mention of bitches is somewhat unnecessary, but this song is such a big hit.
“Worried” sounds like a song that Rihanna would sing and it would go viral and top several charts. Because this song won’t be promoted like most of Chloe’s amazing songs, it would most likely go unnoticed.
“Worried” has good production, of course, Metro Boomin produced it. Chloe In Pieces Album Review shows that the chorus is the most satisfying part of the song. The delivery of the verses is somewhat overwhelming, but asides this, Worried comes immediately after “I don’t mind” as the next standout song.
We are a little disappointed that Fallin 4 U is just an overlay of voices.
The track doesn’t seem to add anything to the album and should never have made the album. If there is a symbolic representation of the song for the album, then its meaning is ultimately lost on listeners because there is nothing “In Pieces” about the song.
“How does it feel” is not a bad track at all. It sounds good, to a large extent. But this song does not deserve a Chris Brown collaboration. It gets monotonous on request listens and the replay value is not on the high side at all.
“Feel me cry” sounds like The Weeknd material, and Chloe slays every part of the song. Her vocals lay on the beats in an amazing way.
The part where she says “This shi* feels too good” is unnecessary. “Feel me cry” may not standout among other songs on the album, but it is easily one of the best in relation to the theme of the album.
Chloe In Pieces Album Review establishes that “Make it look easy” is a well-made record. It has that soulful R&B overlay that makes it so much good for In Pieces.
It is so soul-baring. Especially where Chloe says “I just want to feel pretty. I just want to be a pretty girl” Make it look easy is one of the most relatable tracks on In Pieces
“Looze You” should not have made this album.
It is too similar to most of the other songs on In Pieces album; so much that you can forget that the song exists on the album because it is already overwhelmed by other songs that are similar in theme to it but sound better.
“Told ya” is Chloe’s attempt to make an imperfect record. The flaws begin when the first verse is not ushered in after the hook of “I told ya” that starts the song.
The song is danceable, Missy Elliot did well on the track, but the incessant repetition of “I told Ya” makes the song sound too over flogged. It is only towards the end that we actually get the gold of the song.
The last verse Chloe delivered at the end should have come earlier on the song.
“Cheatback” would have easily been the best track on this album- If Chloe had collaborated with a male artist with actual outstanding vocals as a singer, and not necessarily a Rapper.
Future is a wondrous artist, but 6lack or Chris Brown would have been better on this track, or even The Weeknd.
“Heart on my sleeve” is the greatest mistake on In Pieces album. How do you make a song like this less than one minute?
How do you make a song that is so outstanding in songwriting and production an interlude? Why? A songwriter could have helped Chloe on this track if she didn’t have any other ideas for the song.
Chloe In Pieces Album Review indicates that Heart on my sleeve was the most anticipated song on the album because it was teased with the album. It would have easily been the best song on the album.
“In Pieces” is supposed to be what makes up for Heart on my sleeve”. This song gives Adele’s “Easy on Me” vibes, especially the Chorus.
It is one of the well-written songs on the album that will standout in performances. If this song were well promoted, it is a ballad that would do so good I mean, even Easy on me was not as soul baring as this.
