Breath of Life Movie Review: Finally a Masterpiece
Prime Video has released their first original Nigerian movie, and it seems to be worth the wait. Garnering quite the amount of attention upon its release and generatig quite the conversation on social media, here is a breath of live movie review by The Scoove Africa.
Breath of Life Movie Review
First, the casting of Breath of Life movie is truly incredible. Wale Ojo and Adedoyin Ademola did justice to their roles, as did Genoveva Umeh and Chimezie Imo (see the full cast of Breath of Life Movie here).
Perhaps one thing that makes the movie stand out is that viewers cannot tell from the start what the movie will be about. Will it be about vengeance? Or Colonial life al domination? Or about love? For a Nollywood movie, the suspense that this movie generated till the very end is quite an applaudable one.
The storyline of Breath of Life Movie is genuinely an authentic one. From the beginning of the movie, we could decipher that Breath of Life would be an interesting one. The lack of unnecessary dramtic effects to the shocking events that happen at the beginning certifies our assumptions that the movie is bigger than the brutal death of a beautiful woman and her child burnt in the vehicle alive.
Based on Breath of Life Movie review One would wonder then, if Breath of Life is an attempt to reconcile the power of God with the sad void and pain that people feel. Is it about divine intervention? Or about the redemption of a man through the unconditional love shown to him by his devoted house boy?
While Breath of Life has so many not-subtle religious shades, the movie does not revolve around the idea alone but transcends the traditional salvation of man needed to automatically translate someone into happiness.
There’s so much to learn from this. Eijah’s love and devotion to Timi Johnson, is what brings the man out of his pain, then the re-introduction of the need to recognize God.
In the midst of this original storyline, emotion and stellar acting, it becomes clear that Breath of Life centers on Elijah’s own need for new lungs, after suffering from long issues since the beginning of the movie. Two things are clear:
- The movie does not try to venture into narratives that do not cntribute to its storyline
- It does not try to be ambitious more than it is, and this simplicity is what makes it a great Nollywood movie.
Breath of Life Movie Review shoes that being the first Nollywood Prime Video Original movie, Breath of Life is worth the watch.
