After its release since 2010, the movie will show on Netflix on August 3, and I can promise you that it is going to be a delight to watch. Take it from someone who has seen the movie two times.

“Ije: The Journey” became the Highest-grossing Nollywood movie upon its release and held the position for five years (2010-2015). The unique storyline, action, setting, depiction of an interesting social phenomenon and of course, exemplary acting skills by Omotola Jalade and Genevieve, all contribute to making the movie one of the best.

The storyline revolves aound a lady (Omotola) who decides to move abroad and pursue a music career. She does this well and marries a rich white man. Meanwhile, one night, a series of unfortunate events happen which lead to the death of her husband, her imprisonment and consequently the coming of her sister (Genevieve) to America to vindicate her as she faces trial.

The movie runs through series of suspense, sibling love, war, stereotype and subtly, Romantic love.

The Director of the film- Chineze Anyaene, wrote on her Instagram page:

“I am excited to announce my multi-award winning feature film, and the highest grossing Nigerian Box Office movie from 2010-2015 IJE: The Journey. A movie which redefined the industry and the cinema experience in Nigeria, starring the finest and top actresses @realomosexy & @genevievennaji will be showing on Netflix from the 3rd of August 2021,”
