Elsa Majimbo is a Kenyan Comedienne who gained massive recognition and became famous in early 2021 during the covid-19 quarantine period. Earlier, Elsa Majimbo had been a student of Strathmore University, Nairobi.
How Elsa Majimbo became Famous
Elsa Majimbo became famous when she started making funny home-based quarantine videos during the Covid-19 lockdown.
In her comic videos, she posits herself as a satirical individual who does monologues on common African and global attitudes and misconceptions.
In her comedic videos, she crunches potato crisps and this further gives more fun and sarcasm to her videos.

Dropping out of college
Speaking on how she became Famous, According to Elsa Majimbo, in the “She believe” Summit, she dropped out of college when her video hit a hundred thousand views.
This set Elsa Majimbo on a path of becoming famous.
Earlier, she had been a student of Strathmore University, Nairobi.
Elsa revealed that a lot of people think she dropped out of college when she had her first hundred thousand followers on Instagram.
She explained that that was not so; that she dropped out of college when she hit her first hundred thousand views on a video.
It was obvious she was gaining more attention and getting a real shot at becoming famous
Speaking on how she became famous, Elsa Majimbo stated that after she dropped out of college, one of her lecturers- who didn’t really like her, emailed her and said:
“Hey Elsa, I know that you are really popular now. But I need you to know that these things don’t last. I think that you should stay in school and focus on your grades.
To her lecturer’s email, Elsa replied back:
“Thank you for your concern, but I am a star now”
Elsa Majimbo also stated that she dropped out of college even though she just had one hundred thousand views on a video because she was so confident in herself and walked around “with no fear and the assumption that everything is possible”.
She knew she was already becoming famous

As she started garnering more views and followers across social media, and getting more famous, especially on Instagram, Elsa landed herself an endorsement deal with Rihanna’s Fenty Skin care line.
It was one of the biggest highlights of her career. After she bagged the ambassadorial deal, she showcased the brand’s glasses in every shade.
Consequently, as her fame increased, Elsa Majimbo bagged another ambassadorial deal with famous Cosmetic company- MAC Cosmetics.
Recognition
Elsa has been applauded for her creativity and sense of comedy. She has received recognition from Rihanna, Lupita Nyong’o, Snoop Dogg, Miss Universe, and Joan Smalls.
She has also been featured on Steve Harvey’s Steve on Watch- a Facebook web talk show
At the 2022 Steamy Awards, Elsa Majimbo was presented a “Creator Honor Award” by YouTuber Lilly Singh. She also won the people’s choice for Favorite African Star in 2020.
