Chike’s “The Brother’s Keeper” will be a smash, and here is why.
Since Chike announced the release of his sophomore album “The Brother’s Keeper”, people’s excitement has been untamed, and the reason for this is not far-fetched.
As a new artist in the industry, Chike shocked the world with his debut album “Boo of the Booless”. “Boo of the Booless” was a masterpiece.
It was even named 2020 Nigerian album of the year by some media outlets. It succeeded on streaming platforms, and showed that Chike has come to stay and dominate in the music industry.
Now, his sophomore album “The Brother’s Keeper” is one of the most anticipated 2022 Nigerian albums.
Currently, his music video for “Running to you”, is 2021 most viewed Nigerian music video.
Fast forward from being a top ten contestant of Project Frame West Africa, to being Second-runner up on The Voice Nigeria, Chike is no longer a rookie, and his next album “The Brother’s Keeper” will be a proof of this.
Here is why:
1) The Album title- “The Brother’s Keeper”
Overtime, especially in Nigeria, artists tend to follow a pattern with their album release, especially with the title. Chike’s first album was titled “Boo of the Booless”, an indication that he is there for anyone who doesn’t feel loved or have anyone to show love to them.
Now, his sophomore album is titled “The Brother’s Keeper” which is also an indication that he is there to satisfy the interests of everyone regardless of gender or personality.
Chike’s album title is derived from the common catchphrase of “Be your brother’s keeper”.
This then tells us that the songs on Chike’s “The Brother’s keeper” album will be love songs and songs that emphasize how people should be there for you.
It will be a mix of romantic songs, songs that denote unity, and songs that show people’s character which may necessitate adjustments.
2) Lyricism
“The Brother’s Keeper” will sure be a lyrically embedded album.
In the music industry, Chike is one of the best lyricists there is. Although Simi and Falz come very close to being the best, Chike should not be left out.

He tweaks song lyrics in such a way that makes you think you’ve never heard those lyrics before.
One of the things that makes great artists is the dynamism of their lyricism.
Chike is so dynamic with lyrics, because even if he sings romantic songs, he sounds like he’s taking you on a journey (which is what he did on “Running to you”).
People then take these lyrics with them and they want to listen to the song/album again because they know they are taking something from it.
So after a song plays for 2-3 minutes, and the listeners don’t find any of the lyrics memorable, the song is not lyrically done.
However, with Chike’s “The Brother’s Keeper”, a lot can be said about lyricism, and we better be sure to have a lyrically embedded album that is not too wordy.
3) Collaborations
Chike is not too high on collaborations, because he is a very good artiste. And if there is something about artists who do well on their songs alone, they choose collaborations carefully.
Chike is not someone that will feature Wizkid or Davido on a song just because they are very popular artists.
However, we hope “The Brother’s Keeper” will be an exception.
It will be nice to have interesting features like Buju, Ayra Starr, Amaarae and Adekunle Gold. With some tweaks and adjustments, a Chike-patoranking song will also be a jam.
4) Vocals
Chike is a vocal-god. As a male artiste, his voice has to be one of the most sonorous.
This is someone who can hold a full concert without depending on the DJ for “music support”. “Boo of the Booless” was a vocally rich album, and we know “The Brother’s Keeper” will be no exception.
One of the things that make people listen to an artiste is because of their voice.

Your voice matters first if you intend to be a singer. This is because you can learn everything there is to be an artiste, but having a good voice is what you can’t learn.
We can agree that it’s somewhat a talent, and Chike, has this talent in abundance.
5) Song-engineering
“The Brother’s Keeper” is sure to have some dope song engineering. Chike knows a lot about music, and choosing song producers seems to be a forte. He just can’t seem to make a bad music.
Making a bad music is not the fault of the artiste completely, the producer may be at fault too, and no matter how good the lyrics, a song without proper engineering is a waste.
Chike’s “The Brother’s Keeper” will have some praise worthy mixing and engineering, which will further exalt its enjoyability!
Chike’s “The Brother’s Keeper” will be released in , 2022.
Chike “Running to you” lyrics
Anybody wey wan fight you
Make them come
They already know
I’ll be right beside you
Like the wall of Jericho
They don’t know
They don’t know
They don’t know what’s going on
Muna gi so
Muna gi so, muna gi so, my baby boo
I’ll be a soldier for you
I’m getting better in kung-fu
You should know I got you
And you don’t need to get me too
I’ll be right beside you
In anything that you do
If you ever need saving
I will be running to
Running, running, running to you
I’ll be running to you
Running, running, running to you
Anywhere that you go to
Running, running, running to you
I’ll be running to you
Running. running. running to you
Anywhere that you go to
If they wanna be the pharoah
If they wanna be the Judas
Me I cannot lay low
Me I’ll never do that
Now they know, now they know, now they know what’s going on
Muna gi so, muna gi so
Muna gi so my baby boo
I’ll be a fighter for you
I’m getting better in chai fu
You should know I got you
But you don’t need to get me too
I’ll be right beside you
In anything that you do
And if you ever need saving, I will be running to you
Running, running, running to you
I’ll be running to you
Running, running, running to you
Anywhere that you go to
Running, running, running to you
I’ll be running to you
Running, running, running to you
Anywhere that you go to
