ELON MUSK SURPASSES JEFF BEZOS TO BECOME WORLD RICHEST MAN

Few hours ago, Elon Musk became the richest man in the world, surpassing Jeff Bezos who had been holding the record since 2017. Now, Elon is worth about $10 billion more than Jeff Bezos.

Elon Musk is an engineer who owns Tesla.inc – an electric car company. The company designs, develops, manufactures and sells electric vehicles and designs. They also manufacture and sell solar energy products. Recently, the shares of Tesla.inc surged suddenly, by about 8% and it consequently surpassed Jeff Bezos’s Amazon Company. Now, Musk is worth around $185 billion, but this is not the only thing that boosted his source of wealth.

Yesterday, Musk’s space company- SpaceX has launched its first mission which is a satellite communication for Turkey. SpaceX designs, manufactures and launches rockets and spacecraft. It was founded in 2002 by Elon Musk.

Elon Musk is African, South African to be precise. His mother is Canadian and his father is South-African. He was raised and schooled in South-Africa for a long period of time before moving back to the United States. He is an engineer, who before setting up Tesla. Inc. and Spacex, had co-founded some other company that brought him money. He co-founded zip2, a web software company which was later acquired by Compaq for about $300 million in 1999. Currently, Elon Reeve Musk is the founder of ‘The Boring Company’, co-founder of ‘Neuralink’ and co-founder of ‘Open Al’. He is also the chairman of ‘Solar city’

However, there are standoff statements that had Jeff Bezos not divorced his wife and transferred a fair amount of his wealth to her, he probably would have still been the richest man till date. Elon Musk reacted to this news by saying, ‘How strange…well, let’s get back to work’. Rich people, right?

Around 2018, the 49 year old explained in a tweet that ‘About half my money is intended to help problems on Earth and half to help establish a self-sustaining city on Mars to ensure continuation of life of all species. In case earth gets hits by a meteor like the dinosaurs or WW3 happens and we destroy ourselves’

So, there it is folks, as at today, January 8, 2021, Elon Musk has $185 billion and is the richest man in the whole world.
