THINGS YOU MUST NOT MISS DOING IN 2021!

Happy New Year! Congratulations for making it past the crazy year that was 2020. Well, 2021 is here. But guess what else is here too? REALITY. After all the celebrations and family hangouts, you realize that there are some things you must do this year as 2020 didn’t really permit a lot of doings. So, here is our list of things you must not miss doing in 2021.

1 Start developing your alpha goal

2 Fuel your passion

3 Develop a network of substantial people

4 Create memories

5 Develop a skin care routine

6 Read books and do a lot of research

1 Start developing your Alpha goal

Yes! This is the year you need to start developing your Alpha goal. If you don’t know what an Alpha goal is, check our last post: Seven things you should do before 2020 ends!. If you already set your Alpha goal in motion, congratulations! Continue the energy of consistency. If you haven’t, you need to start doing it yesterday. I don’t think you need statistics like ‘Studies show that those who set their goal in motion early, achieve it in milestones’, before you understand that it is the truth. You might want to write a novel, save money for things you really need, hit the gym to drop your body count or start a business. All these sound good on paper, but it might not be easy all the time. In fact, it might not be easy starting at all. But one of my favorite quote in a book titled ‘The parable of dollars’(by Sam Adeyemi) is “Every time you avoid challenges, you avoid your breakthrough’. It may sound motivational, but it’s kinda true.

2 Fuel your passion

If you are so interested in something and you are doing it well or it is something you just do and drop, you need to stop soft-pedaling and fuel your passion. For me, I am extremely passionate about writing, and I have come to discover that most of my successes are directly or indirectly driven by it. Most successful people in the world are people who are passionate about what they do. Beyoncé? Mark Zuckerberg? Omotola Jalade Ekeinde? Elon Musk? The list is endless. However, if you are yet to discover your passion, you should keep on trying several things. You will definitely find your thing.

I feel the need to address the custom student mentality that waiting to graduate is probably the best thing to do before pursuing your passion. This is wrong. As long as you can accommodate both schedules perfectly, you should start now. Graduation is a relative success. There is no 60% guarantee that you will get a good job and be buoyant financially few months or years after graduation. In fact, some people spend years paying student loans after graduation. Don’t wait to sing tales. START NOW!

3 Develop a network of substantial people

I deliberately used the word ‘substantial’ here because it underscores how I want you to build a network of powerful people this year. You have no idea how this can give you a lifetime breakthrough. Don’t be content with hanging around people who only make you feel good. Hang around with people who are capable of making you as successful as they are or even more. Learn from them and analyze ways that you can do things better than they did.

4 Create memories

When I look back at 2020, I realize I don’t have a lot of memories about it and it is something I’d like to correct this year. Sometimes, I go through my phone and try to find them, but nada. You should definitely have fun this year (especially with other people) and do things you enjoy doing or things that you’ve not done before but would definitely love to do. So, when we look back at 2021, let us say to our friends ‘Do you remember that time in March when we went to the gaming store and I ‘beat’ the hell out of you? Lol, I love such memories.

5 Develop a skin care routine

Remember my last post about Seven things you should do before 2020 ends! Well, why not continue a skin care routine? There is nothing as satisfying as looking at yourself and saying ‘My skin looks so damn fine’, or even hearing people say ‘What cream do you use? You glow girl!’ Meanwhile, make sure you do a lot of research before you do this because you have to choose the right products for your skin tone.

6 Read books and do a lot of research

If you are not a book lover, then stop using the internet for things that won’t really benefit you a lot. Do a lot of research on things you don’t understand. The internet makes it relatively easy to know a little about everything. I love it when people are talking about something I recently read on the internet and I chip in like I have read the cover to glossary of the topic. It makes you look smart and broadens your knowledge. Even though it would seem like you might not need it anytime soon, you never know, no knowledge is wasted.

7 Pray for 2021

Whether you believe in prayer or not, it works. Pray about everything you need to do in the New Year and commit it into God’s hands. It makes you feel rested and less tensed up about everything. Besides, we all know how things can go awry most times no matter how we plan. ‘Man proposes, God disposes’- that’s what the popular adage says.
