Released on October 20, 2023, New Boy in Town is the debut single of upcoming singer “Elmah”. A video was posted on her Instagram Page to promote the song. In the video, she sang the chorus of the song which is the most catchy part. The video got a lot of reactions and requests to release the song, and it began to gain popularity on TikTok.
By the time the song was released, it was already very popular on Tiktok and was used in thousands of videos. It was already a trending sound.
Now, New boy in town has already surpassed over 300, 000 streams on Spotify, over 1 Million Streams on Audiomack, was the top trending song on Boomplay and has been the Number one song on Shazam Nigeria Top Songs chart for a while now. With more promotion, the song is expected to rise in streaming numbers and gain more popularity on social media platforms, especially Instagram where it is still relatively unknown.
Elmah Music is an upcoming artist who started posting song covers and original songs written by herself on her Instagram page, around mid 2022. During this period, she has gained herself quite the number of fans and has even gotten a following from artists like Joeboy, Teni, and Boy Spyce.
Her hit debut song “New Boy in Town” is a well-written sonic track that tells the tale of a girl who lusts after the new boy that just moves into town. She tries to balance her morals and her love for her religion between her lust for the new boy who obviously seems like a bad boy. It says:
