Ishaq Oloyede- the Registrar of the Nigerian examination body known as Joint Admission Matriculation Board, revealed that some hackers gained access into the website of the examination body and made away with over #10 million naira.
He made this revelation on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.
It was said that the hackers altered the profiles of JAMB’s ad hoc staff, making it relatively easy to gain access to their funds. The Registrar said the stolen money was the allowance of members of the board’s ad hoc staff.
He also disclosed that the department of accounting did not deem it entirely necessary to do a cross-check on the names on the accounts to ensure that it corresponds with the ad hoc members who owned the codes. “If this had been done”, he said. “The fraud would have been detected”
