The Literary and debating society and Student Union of University of Ibadan have called for entries for her Fresher’s essay competition. The essay competition is strictly for University of Ibadan Freshers (2020/2021) session

The competition was put up because the Literary and debating society of University of Ibadan felt the need to welcome the University’s new students and inspire them to put their thoughts and ideas into a rigorous brainstorm on the topic ‘21st Century unionism: A veritable panacea for Nigeria’s educational woes’

2 Word Count

*Must not be more than 1000 words
*Font: Times new roman
*Font size: 12
*Spacing: 1.5
*All texts should be justified

3 Judging criteria
All essays will be judged on:
*Quality of research
*Structure
*Clarity of thoughts

Nigerian student poetry prize 2021 calls for entries

The Nigerian Students poetry prize edition for 2021 is here! This is the sixth edition and the organization has made a call for entries/submissions. The total grand prize is a whooping #400,000 and therefore worth trying out. Interested Nigerian undergraduates are expected to submit a 30-line poem on one of the following themes

*Identity: Phases and Faces

*Politics of retrogression

*Individual and collective humanity in a corona-ravaged world.

Note: Interested students can only write on one of the three themes listed above and not all.

Eligibility

*Entrant must be a student of a recognized tertiary institution

*It is open to all Nigerian undergraduates studying in Nigeria and in diaspora.

GUIDELINES

*Submissions are to be made at nspp.poetsinnigeria.org.ng, with strict adherence to the instructions thereon.

*Entrants must give unique titles to their works (Avoid using the wording of the themes as title of your entry)

*Indicate the theme selected beneath your work

*Poems must be original intellectual property of the entrants.

*An entrant is entitled to a single entry of 30 lines maximum.

The best platforms to promote your music for free and still get paid

*Entries submitted must be previously unpublished. A submission discovered to have defaulted on this rule will be automatically voided.

*All entrants are expected to purchase a minimum of one of the five NSPP anthologies uploaded on the submission portal.

*Under no condition will the judges’ decision be challenged.

*Entering for the contest gives PIN automatic right to make use of entries as deemed appropriate.

*Entries must be written in English. Native terminologies must be translated in English as footnotes.

*Entrants should subscribe to www.poetsinnigeria.org.ng for regular updates.

*Submission Deadline: 28th February, 2021

1st Prize: #200,000

2nd Prize: #100,000

3rd Prize: #50,000

Consolation prize- #25,000 each for 4th and 5th best entrants
