Former First Lady of the United States of America- Michelle Obama, in an interview on NBC’s today show, made her comments on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s claim of racism in the British Royal Family.
When asked by the show’s host- Jenna Hager, she said she wasn’t entirely surprised by the claims. She stated that “Race isn’t a new construct in this world for people of color, and so it wasn’t a complete surprise to air her feelings and to have them articulated,”
In an interview with Oprah, Meghan Markle- The Duchess of Sussex stated some racist comments made by unnamed members of the British royal family made to her and her son- Archie. The person had shown ‘concerns’ about how dark Archie’s skin might be.

Meghan Markle is actually the first biracial/mixed race member of the British Modern family and she has not been having it easy with the British Royal family and their attitude towards her race.
After their interview with Oprah, Queen Elizabeth 2 said she was saddened by the news and that a private investigation was going on following the claims made by the couple

Finally, Michelle Obama said she hoped that would be a teachable moment for the royal family and prayed for healing and forgiveness for them.
