Davido was making a return to the O2 for the first time since his sold out show in 2019.
This time, he wanted the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 to be bigger and better with more entertaining guests and amazing performances.
The theme of the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 show was WRBLO- we rise by lifting others, a mantle he has always preached.
And he started the the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 show that even before the main event started by flying his domestic staff and aides to the event to celebrate with him.
He also flew his son Ifeanyi and former fiancée, Chef Chi in a private jet to the UK.Â
Davido is one of only three afrobeats artists dead or alive to sell out the O2 and he is one of the only two to do it twice.Â
Arrival
The Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 started at 9: 00pm Nigerian time.
Fans had already started trooping into the arena by this time and from some videos and images shared on social media, there was reportedly a large queue at the entrance for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022
Ms. DSF a DJ from Nigeria opened the show for Davido, thrilling the fans with some of the best African music alongside London based OAP Adeshope Olajide popularly known as ShopsyDoo.
For fans who couldn’t get tickets for the show, UDUX offered a free streaming platform for MTN subscribers and a stream pass fee of 1000 naira for other networks so everyone could have a taste of what was to be a very exciting show.
Ecool who was Davido’s DJ for the night arrived and started to hype the fans and introduce some of the artists who would be performing at the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022

Burna Boy to become First Nigerian to headline Madison Square Garden
First up for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 was a member of DMW and 30BG, Idowest, who performed Ji Masun and movement.
And then British-Nigerian rapper not3s arrived to perform his hit single Alaadin.
Reekado Banks was next for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022. He opened his act with Rora, before performing one of the biggest songs in Nigeria last year, Ozumba Mbadiwe to the excitement of the crowd.
He performed the song while showing off his amapiano dance steps.
The next performer for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 was not a musician, but would be known to active fans of Davido.
It was none other than Afeare Israel popularly known as Israel dmw.
He was dressed fully in an edo attire with a bell and was serenading Davido on stage. His appearance was unexpected but he was received well by the crowd.
And then the moment everyone was waiting for finally arrived, the man of the moment Davido finally made his entrance for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022.
Asake and Burna Boy: Olamide announces collaboration
He arrived in a large box suspended in the air. The box was made of what looked like transparent screens and when they went off for a split second you could see Davido inside.
He greeted his fans shouting:
‘London, who dey breet for here?’
Then, he proceeded to perform his first song of the night for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022- the viral hit- Skelewu.
He then performed three songs from the ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ album; All of you, Ekuro and Dami Duro; the song which launched him into limelight.Â
He then performed Gobe and Aye.
After which he performed Tchelete (good life), The Money and his verse from Bahd Baddo Baddest. Then Coolest Kid in Africa, Fans Mi and Like dat.
Zlatan was the next guest Davido brought out on stage for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022.
They performed their hit song Bum Bum after which Zlatan went on to give electrifying performances of aye yi, bolanle and cash app.
The crowd went wild for a second when they thought he was about to perform killin dem by Burna Boy and Zlatan but that was probably a mistake from DJ Ecool.Â
Davido changed his outfit and came back on stage to give a marvelous rendition of 1 milli before bringing Jnr Choi to perform the tik tok viral hit to the moon.
After this, superstar dance hall artist Patoranking took to the stage of
the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 and got the crowd screaming the lyrics of his hit songs; My Woman and Abule, at him.
Before linking with Davido to perform another hit song Confirm.Â
It was then time for the former prince of DMW, Davido’s very own protégé, Mayorkun the Mayor of Lagos got on stage for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 .
Mayorkun and Davido probably have the most number of hits as a duo in Nigeria and they wasted no time in performing them, from Bobo to Betty Butter and The Best.
After which Mayorkun brought out Victony to perform their hit song Holy Father from his ‘Back in Office’ album.
Victony had an accident that put him in a wheel chair but last year while performing with Davido and Mayorkun he stood up and performed for the first time. But at the O2 he walked to the stage and performed standing throughout, although with the aid of a walking stick.
Teni, the only female artist to perform on the night arrived on stage for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 to perform For You with Davido.Â
Tion Wayne, another British rapper with Nigerian roots jumped on stage to perform Who’s True and then he brought out ArrDee and Russ Millions to perform the monster hit Body.
Davido got back on stage to perform Risky before bringing out Ckay to perform the biggest afrobeats song in the world Love Nwantiti.
His performance was electric and everyone definitely lost their voice shouting ah ah ah.
Then Ckay and davido performed La La off the ‘A Better Time’ album.Â
He then performed the holy grail of Davido songs IF, FALL and FIA
It was then time for AG Baby.
Adekunle Gold arrived in a silky green jumpsuit and a winter jacket for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 .
He then proceeded to give a thunderous performance of High with Davido. The energy was high, no sound issues and DJ Ecool was on point unlike in a few of the other performances.
This was probably the best performance of the night. Ag Baby also announced that he would be coming to the O2 Arena in October. Unless someone else headlines before then, he would be the first afrobeats artist since Davido, Wizkid and Burna boy to headline the O2.
After AG Baby, it was time for the Baddest boy, Skiibii to perform his hit single Baddest Boy with Davido.
He showed the O2 arena why he was the baddest boy with a lively performance.
Just after that, Davido decided he wanted to change his jewelry, and brought out popular jeweler Benny da jeweler to change his jewelry live on stage, in the process of changing his jewelry, he got surprised by Popcaan and they performed Risky again even though he had performed it before.
The audience definitely didn’t seem to mind.
And then the rave of the moment, Pheelz the producer turned artist, for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 to perform the song that has been driving everyone mad; Finesse.
Even though the song was only released two days prior, the whole arena was screaming the lyrics word for word;
Ah finesse, if I broke na my business…
Davido, then brought out Ghanaian artists, Stonebwoy and Darko vibes for the Davido 02 Arena concert 2022 to perform Activate and Je m’appelle respectively.
It was Stonebwoy’s birthday and Davido had the whole arena wish him a happy birthday.
Davido and Focalistic then rounded off the show with a beautiful rendition of Champion Sound. Davido also announced he would be coming back next year.
Bar the frequent mic checks and DJ Ecool’s mistakes, Davido’s We Rise By Lifting Others O2 Arena lived up to the hype and was definitely a huge success. Can’t wait to see what he does next year!.
David Adeleke- popularly called by his stage name “Davido” and styled on Spotify as “DaVido”, is a Nigerian-American singer-songwriter who rose to fame in 2011.
Before then, Davido’s interest had sparked in music way before the release of his debut album- “Omo Baba Olowo” (2011). He formed a music group/act with his cousins B-Red and Sina Rambo. The act was called “KB international”
Background
Nigerian vocalist/producer Davido blends traditional African elements with global mainstream pop for a sound that’s equal parts intriguing and infectious.
He quickly grew from club-ready early songs to charting tracks and features from big names like Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown on his 2020 album- A Better Time.
Davido was born David Adedeji Adeleke in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1992. His interest in music began while attending Oakwood University in his late teens, and he started making his own beats and investigating music production.
He dropped out of school and began pursuing music full-time, relocating to Lagos, Nigeria, and releasing his debut single, “Back When,” in 2011.
The single received some attention for its mix of clubby production, high-energy vocals, and Afro-pop rhythms, and was followed shortly by second single “Dami Duro.”
Work began on his debut album, “Omo Baba Olowo”, which was released in 2012 and produced a plethora of singles.
Success came quickly for Davido, and he sated his fans with a string of new tracks released over the next several years while he was working on his sophomore album, The Baddest, which was still unreleased as of 2020.
Between 2013 and 2017, singles like “Gobe,” “Aye,” and “Pere” (among many others) piled up, sometimes featuring collaborations with bigger-name rappers like Meek Mill and Young Thug.
Between albums, Davido also inked a deal with RCA.
More standalone tracks followed until 2019, when second album A Good Time arrived, featuring guest appearances from A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Perruzi, Popcaan, Chris Brown, Summer Walker, Gunna and other stars from around the world, and did well both commercially and with critics.
Davido quickly followed the next year with his third effort A Better Time. The album was a similarly star-studded affair, with guest spots from Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, Saulti Sol, and many others on Davido’s bright and catchy R&B-infused Afropop.
“A Better Time” also fared well commercially, breaking into the Billboard charts its first week of release.
