Davido ft Asake lyrics “Competition”

Lyricism

Davido Over dem Lyrics implies a situation where Davido is not battling with his anxiety and inferiority complex because he faces no situation much greater than he can handle. He knows he is the greatest.

But Over dem lyrics by Davido points to how there are so many things that his mind feeds on that at the end of the day, he is left staring at so much achievements.

According to Davido, this emptiness is able to make any man feel absolutely unworthy regardless of how highly they think of themselves before.

Also, Over dem Lyrics by Davido, at the beginning, states that there is a mystery box inside of him that he can’t explain- hence the mystery. This particular mystery box juices him up and makes him feel weird, but the kind of weird that makes you feel good.

Meanwhile, Davido Over dem implies that while he feels good inside, he feels much more terrible outside because of his own personal convictions. There is so much his body outside is battling with that it stops the work of the mystery box inside.

This is a situation of “feeling good inside but feeling shitty outside”. No matter how hard he tries, Davido Over dem implies that he can’t make the mystery box in him make him feel good on the outside.

Meanwhile, Over dem Lyrics jumps to another part where we see that the song is majorly about standing upright and being on the watch no matter the hard things you are going through. People don’t need to know that, because once they do, you are caught off guard and they can throw anything at you.

This is why Davido refers to himself as Over dem he must stand up, beat his chest and prevent any form of physical or emotional attack against him.

He even proves that people will always come for you once they realize that you’ve lost your morale. He therefore cites the example of his brother (perhaps a friend) whose spirits have been dampened and has therefore been buried by the cold streets (people who run the streets) because he lost the power of his spirit.

Davido is a song about internal and external conflict/struggles that human beings face within and outside themselves which makes them feel really insecure about themselves

Over dem lyrics Davido

Delivery

Davido has always been strong on song delivery because of how highly personal his songs are. It is therefore not surprising that his new song- Over dem depicts how much of what he is feeling as articulately as possible.

We grab onto every lyric because there is so much to glean from the song based on the meaning portrayed in Over dem.

Relatability

If there is something about Davido’s Over dem, it is the sheer Relatability. Literally everyone of us goes through the part where we find ourselves struggling based on the issues of anxiety, inferiority and insecurity because we don’t find ourselves enough or strong enough for the situations that challenge us.

However, this is a song of encouragement from Davido. We should be our own Over dem, and that’s it. Because if we don’t, we find ourselves staring down the barrel of a gun, waiting to be rescued.

Background

Nigerian vocalist/producer Davido blends traditional African elements with global mainstream pop for a sound that’s equal parts intriguing and infectious

He quickly grew from club-ready early songs to charting tracks and features from big names like Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown on his 2020 album- A Better Time.

Davido was born David Adedeji Adeleke in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1992. His interest in music began while attending Oakwood University in his late teens, and he started making his own beats and investigating music productHe dropped out of school and began pursuing music full-time, relocating to Lagos, Nigeria, and releasing his debut single, “Back When,” in 2011.

The single received some attention for its mix of clubby production, high-energy vocals, and Afro-pop rhythms, and was followed shortly by second single “Dami Duro.”

Work began on his debut album, “Omo Baba Olowo”, which was released in 2012 and produced a plethora of singles.

Success came quickly for Davido, and he sated his fans with a string of new tracks released over the next several years while he was working on his sophomore album, The Baddest, which was still unreleased as of 2020.

Between 2013 and 2017, singles like “Gobe,” “Aye,” and “Pere” (among many others) piled up, sometimes featuring collaborations with bigger-name rappers like Meek Mill and Young Thug.

Between albums, Davido also inked a deal with RCA.

More standalone tracks followed until 2019, when second album A Good Time arrived, featuring guest appearances from A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Perruzi, Popcaan, Chris Brown, Summer Walker, Gunna and other stars from around the world, and did well both commercially and with critics.

Davido ft Morravey “in the Garden” lyrics

Davido quickly followed the next year with his third effort A Better Time. The album was a similarly star-studded affair, with guest spots from Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, Saulti Sol, and many others on Davido’s bright and catchy R&B-infused Afropop.

“A Better Time” also fared well commercially, breaking into the Billboard charts its first week of release.

Oxlade drops heat on “Baddest boy” cover! {Refix}~ Review

Oxlade drops heat on “Baddest boy” cover! {Refix}~ Review

Oxlade drops heat on “Baddest boy” cover {Refix}

Oxlade just released a cover of Skiibii’s “Baddest boy” and as short a snippet it is, it is a banger!

Oxlade explores sizzling lyricism and song mixing to make his “Baddest boy” cover a pleasant listen.

Read: Nigerian artists with highest monthly listeners on spotify (February 2022)

When you are done listening to it, it sounds almost better than the original “Baddest boy” remix, which leaves you wondering if he should have been on “Baddest boy” remix initially.

oxlade baddest boy cover

He even uses “Baddest boy” cover to announce his incoming album:

“Maybe the album is coming your way”

Thankfully, Oxlade’s “Baddest boy” cover actually focuses on what the song should be about, which is not exactly what Skiibii and Davido did on the remix of “Baddest boy”.

Oxlade’s “Baddest boy” cover is a banger, and it leaves you wishing it is longer. The lyrics are on point, the song mixing and producing is tasteful!

We can’t wait for Oxlade’s forthcoming album!

Oxlade “Baddest boy” cover lyrics

{Intro}
Baddest boy oo
Chikkylaka in my toy
Kriipo

Omo grandma l’omo
Emi ni don dada
God father, thier grand father
Make everybody gather thier faves come
It is manslaughter
Don’t come further, no comforter
Because everybody fore here carry machine gun
Oma na 2022 and e go plentiful

Ashewo season everywhere
Me know say frenemies go plenty too
And I dey watchful
So I dey focus on my hustle very well
Because me I no dey follow anaybody sare
I dey do my things my ways
Maybe the album is coming your way
Make everybody shout halle

Skiibii “Baddest boy” ft Davido Review

The reality is that Skiibii’s “Baddest boy” is not mad enough to be a hit song.It is a nice song. But it doesn’t seem to have that potential.

Meanwhile, with Davido on the new “baddest boy” remix, that might have been the goal.

Read: Why Chike’s “The Brother’s Keeper” album is worth waiting for!

However, even after this, the song does not look like it has that potential. It will do well on streaming platforms as a result of the collaboration.

But it appears something feels off with the song.

There is a conflict of lyrics between Davido and Skiibi’s lyrics and this affected listeners’ overall impression after listening to the song.

Davido explores the part of how people hate on you for no reason other than your success.

However, on “Baddest boy”, Skiibii seemed to explore the part of being a “Yoruba demon” more. Which is what he did on the original song.

His verse on “Baddest boy” is dope, but the Lyric confusion makes it seem like there is no direction to the song.

oxlade baddest boy refix

It leaves you wondering what being the baddest boy means? Breaking girls’ heart or not being affected by people’s negativity?.

Get this, it sure could have been both. But the symphony is not there to merge any kind of correlation between the lyrics.

It’s almost standalone.

If Davido and Skiibii had reworked the original version of “Baddest boy” to fit a single point of view from both artists, it would have made the song feel specific and more direct.

Apart from this, the mixing and production is nice. Even though the lyrics are diverse, they actually possess some meaning in them.

The only think Skiibii’s “Baddest boy” remix seems to be missing, is a specific direction on the song.

Review: Why love Nwantiti is here to stay for decades

Review: Why love Nwantiti is here to stay for decades

Why  love nwantiti is here to stay for decades

It is no longer news, “Love nwantiti” has  to be one of the greatest sleeper hits in the world.

Its consequent boomerang was shocking to the world. But the truth is that,  you can never deny a  good song its attention. Boy, and has love nwantiti not gotten that attention?

The beautiful thing about “Love Nwantiti” is that it is soulful music. It is a one-in-a-kind romantic song that gives you a thereupitic feeling when you are listening to it.

It makes you feel less tense and transcends you into a world of hopeless romanticism and fantasy. Ckay submerges himself in “Love nwantiti” to deliver one of the greatest love songs in the world, but this is not the end of it.

The percussions can drive you crazy with euphoria, and the  “ahn…ahn…ahn…ahn…ahn…ahn”  will make you feel good that you are listening to a love song no matter how anti-love you are.

The percussions make the song a pleasant listen and even if you don’t listen to the lyrics as much as you want to, the percussions alone are enough to get you on with the song.

If you listened to the acoustic version of “Love Nwantiti”, you would know that “Love nwantiti” can thrive without percussions or instruments, although it flourishes with the accompaniment of a keyboard or guitar.

It is a song devoid of imperfections. You can never listen to it enough.

Love Nwantiti” is one of those songs that grow with time. It’s timeless, ageless music, and that’s the truth. The point of music is to create art, but you discover that there are some songs that get trite  even after they have been released for some seven months or one year.

With “Love Nwantiti”, it’s different. There is something different, something that calls out to listeners, and they are always ready to yield to it.

In fact, it is even more of a hit because of the way Ckay adulates a woman’s body in the song. It doesn’t sound like all other songs that artists sing and it sounds so cliche.

The lyrics do not sound different from those other songs, but  Ckay sounds very convincing with the lyrics that he makes the entire song sound entirely unique.

Afro Nation 2022: See Artists lineup

It would have been bad if Ckay vocalized on “Love Nwantiti”. He  sang  it with no purpose to over impress or show  that it  is a song that will do well without extras, and truly, it is.

How “Love Nwantiti” became popular

In 2021, the world went agog as Ckay’s 2019 smash hit; “Love Nwantiti” began to make waves on the social media tik tok app. People all over the world danced and vibed to the song.

“Love Nwantiti” which was originally released as part of Ckay’s 8-track E.P became one of the best performing songs on the E.P and earned itself a remix with afro pop star Joeboy and Ghanaian singer Kuami Eugene which was released in 2020 and became a big hit all over the world.

It took almost a year later when DJ Yo– a DJ from Mauritius remixed the original song and made it a sound on tik tok, it had positive receptions and it became a viral tik tok sound.

But questions arose on who actually owned the song and it wasn’t until Ckay made a 34 seconds video of the acoustic version on tik tok before the deserved credit was attributed to him.

It became the most shazamed song in September 2021 over Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber’s ‘Stay’ and Elton John’s remix of ‘Cold Heart’ ft. Dua Lipa. It has garnered over 15 billion views on tik tok. Ckay’s spotify monthly listeners also rose to as much as 32 million, he’s the first African artist to reach this milestone.

It also became the most certified Afrobeats song in the world. It’s safe to say Ckay made a masterpiece which has gone on to be one of the most, if not the most, successful afrobeats song ever.

love nwantiti

“Love Nwantiti” blew up suddenly and became an instant media sensation on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube

The song has been remixed two times featuring Kuami Eugene and Joeboy, and another one with North African singer El Grande Toto. The reason for “Love Nwantiti” becoming famous is not far-fetched, the lyrics are relatable, the percussions are dreamily rhythmic, and the song is a pleasant listen.
