Chloe Bailey and Chris Brown Collaboration: Americans can be hypocrites

Chloe Bailey and Chris Brown Collaboration: Americans can be hypocrites

Chloe Bailey just announced the second piece to her upcoming album “In Pieces”, and Twitter has been slamming, cursing and berating her because it features someone they say they hate so much and is cancelled- Chris Brown.

But we all know something about the fake outrage, it doesn’t have anything to do with Chloe’s new song, rather, with the fact that their righteous display of anger would always be there. But we know what they do after their outrage on Twitter.

Is Chris Brown Really Cancelled?

Let’s start with Spotify. Chris Brown has over 54 million monthly listeners on Spotify currently, which is more than Beyoncé’s Spotify monthly listeners. The question then goes: If Chris Brown is really cancelled, why does he have more monthly Spotify Listeners than Beyoncé, one of the world’s most loved singers who recently released an album in August 2022?

Who are those listening to his songs? Why does his 2022 sleeper hit “Under the influence”, have close to 70o million streams? Why does he still have over 130 Million followers on Instagram?
The answers to these are not far-fetched.

People only choose to cancel someone when they feel they should be canceled. They go back to their rooms to listen to Chris Brown, and hop on TikTok to jump on the #Undertheinfluence challenge.

Nothing speaks hypocrisy more. The outrage would have been fair if Chris Brown had been a loser over the years.

But no, he recently just made history when he surpassed Elvis to have the most Gold Singles in history. Also, his Under the Influence tour is sold out in every city. So, why are people pretending like they have the power they do on social media?

Just because you have a Twitter account and some followers doesn’t mean your opinion carries weight or matters to a celebrity. The real world doesn’t work like that.

The bottom of the matter is, Chris Brown was absolutely wrong to hit Rihanna. However, not only has he apologized and paid for his crimes, Rihanna also forgave him as they collaborated afterwards.

Following Chloe and Chris Brown’s song Collaboration announcement, Brown himself has been replying the haters by proving that the cancelling doesn’t apply to white people/artists, and fans have been rallying to his support.

Chloe Bailey and Chris Brown Collaboration: The Double Standard

Since the incident, Brown has worked with numerous male artists including Drake and Wikzid. No outrage was raised then. Nobody said anything about the songs he made with these male artists which topped the charts for months.

Where was the outrage then?

Now, with Chloe and Chris Brown song Collaboration, hell would have to “freeze” over because God forbid women have anything to do with Chris Brown anymore. Besides, it is just a song, it’s not like they are dating or anything, an even if they were, it is still nobody’s business.

Now to Chloe Bailey.

Sam Smith “Unholy” Lyrics Meaning {Fully Explained}

The Chloe Bailey hate is uncalled for

Following Chloe and Chris Brown song Collaboration announcement, someone said on Twitter that

  • Some Black Americans are the worst people on Twitter ever”.

The reason for this is not race at all, it is the manner in which they bully and pull down their own people, especially the female singers.

Chloe Bailey and Chris Brown collaboration

Singers like Normani have been bullied by Black Twitter just because she hasn’t released an album, Halle Bailey was bullied recently because her man is reportedly cheating on her. However, with Chloe Bailey, Black Twitter say they hate her for no reason. Or maybe now, they have found a reason to.

When Chloe Bailey went solo, everyone wanted to offer their piece of advice on how she should dress, what she should sing, who she should work with. But since she was doing what she actually wanted to do, everyone was mad at her because she didn’t fit into the box they created for her.
Bailey has been nothing but consistent and hardworking since going solo, releasing singles and nabbing movie roles here and there.

But Black Twitter knows she has potential, and they want to micromanage her and tell her what to do with her life.

They are also obsessed with her. Because they never seem to stop talking bad about her or following her every move. If they are so mad at her, her engagements on Social media would have dropped. But no, the obsession is real.

Besides, it wasn’t like they supported most of her recent singles- especially “Pray it Away”- a core R&B song that would resonate with what people wanted from her. Not only did they not support the song, it didn’t chart and hasn’t even made 3 million streams on YouTube.

Following Chloe and Chris Brown song Collaboration announcement, Chloe’s tweet has had over 25 million impressions and 35 thousand Quote tweets- people who would have supported her earlier but now have a problem with her new song which they wouldn’t be talking about if Chris Brown wasn’t on it.

Did they pause to think that Chloe is collaborating with Brown because she actually wanted to have a song with him?

Chloe Bailey and Chris Brown Collaboration: Chloe’s Reaction

Bailey is growing. She has learnt that she is a celebrity and people are always going to talk bad about her.

Not only has she pretended like she didn’t know what’s going on Twitter, she has been posting pictures on there, while the haters are even more mad that they are not getting her attention- as if that’s what pays her bills and as if their opinions matter to her.

Conclusion

Black Twitter needs to stop bullying women in the music industry. It’s either you listen to the new song or not. Chloe Bailey is proving that she is in control of her own career and not the media. She wants to make songs with whom she wants, and she doesn’t want her choices to be approved by social media either.Chloe and Chris Brown song

Also, it appears these people live on Twitter to get her, maybe if they really had a life, they would know that she’s just trying to come into her own as a singer. Besides, the level of hypocrisy is astounding because these same people have never stopped listening to Chris Brown. The number don’t lie.

Why Buju changed his name to BNXN

Why Buju changed his name to BNXN

Why Buju changed his name to “BNXN”

Recently, Budding afrofusion Nigerian singer, announced on social media platforms that he would no longer go by his stage name called “Buju“, he would now go by the stage name “BNXN“.

According to him, BNXN is an alternative way of pronouncing “Benson” which is his original name. Buju- his erstwhile stage name, meant “Beauty Underneath Just Understood”.

To complement the name fully, Buju added “TYE” to it, which meant “To your ears”.

Put together, it means “Beauty Underneath Just Understood To Your Ears”. However, Buju does not go with the stage name “Buju” anymore. He will be going by the stage name “BNXN” and here is why:

Why Buju changed his name to BNXN

Similarity in Identity

why Buju changed his name to BNXN

Buju and Buju Banton

Although speculations arise on it, the strongest suggestion is that Buju changed his name to BNXN because there is already a singer bearing the name “Buju Banton” who is infact, more popular and renowned.

It is only easier and more logical that Buju changed his name to separate it from Buju Banton’s own so as to avoid confusion and mistaken identities.

Besides, the decision was also most likely borne out of the fact that Buju does not want to stay in the shadows of Buju Banton’s career. Buju Banton is a Jamaican Singer and is regarded as one of the best Jamaican singers of all time. He even has a Grammy Award.

Perhaps another reason for this dissociation from Buju Banton and changing his name to BNXN, is that Buju Banton is an ex-convict who has apparently served jail time in the United States because he was in possession of Marijuana.

He was released in 2018 and deported back to his hometown- Jamaica. And he is also banned from entering the United States ever.

Based on the fact that Buju will want to exalt his music career in the world {especially now that Afrobeats is one of the greatest music exports} and America is the boiling point of music, it only makes sense that Buju changes his name to BNXN.

Skiibii “Baddest boy” ft Davido: What does the song need? {Review}

Record Label

Buju might have changed his name to BNXN as a result of record label “suggestions“. Currently, Buju, or should we say; BNXN, was signed to Burna Boy’s record label- “On a spaceship”.

After much deliberations on how his stage name might not be the perfect fit for his Budding music career, they might have tilted Buju towards changing his name to BNXN if, he still wants to remain on the label.

Besides, the greatest assumption lies that the record label might have instilled this decision of Buju changing his name to BNXN considering that he already left his erstwhile label to be with them.

Easily, it passes for a new start on a fresh slate.

Music Career

Why Buju changed his name to BNXN

Buju “BNXN” on Apple Music Cover

You have to agree that Buju, oops…BNXN, has a very futuristic music career, and it is only logical that he changes his stage name now to avoid any future problems which may impact his music career and earnings.

BNXN has a lot of streams on music platforms; with over 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify making him one of the Nigerian singers with highest monthly listeners on Spotify.

He is planning to release a new single soon, following the release of the change of his name from Buju to BNXN, and also, he wants to release a new album this year.

In fact, his album is among the top 5 most anticipated 2022 Nigerian albums

Scandal

After Buju announced his change of name from  Buju to BNXN, a tweet came up, with a link, that Buju was changing his name to BNXN because he once assaulted his girlfriend {about two years ago}.

The tweet, which was accompanied with a link providing evidence against Buju- BNXN, showed pictures of Instagram stories gotten from his supposed ex- girlfriend who accused BNXN of beating her mercilessly and exploiting her emotions.

However, this is yet to prove a substantial reason for Buju changing his name to BNXN considering that changing your name does not absolve you of a crime.

Also, the fact that we are just hearing of Buju’s- BNXN supposed scandal, means that the case was not taken up and does not appear to be a problem for BNXN- if there is any case.

Most Streamed Nigerian Artists on YouTube 2022

The reasons above, are the strongest suggestions as to why Buju changed his name to BNXN.

☆And they are that: Buju changed his name to BNXN to separate his music career from a similar artist with the same name- Buju Banton

☆Buju changed his name to BNXN because of strong record label suggestions

☆Or Buju changed his name to BNXN because of a supposed scandal.

However, following his announcement of changing his name to BNXN, different reactions have sparked up from fans about it. Here are some of them:

why buju changed his name to bnxn

why did buju change his mae to bnxn

Buju- Daniel Benson, who now goes by BNXN, was born on May 19, 1997. His genre of music- of Afrobeats, is referred to as “Afrofusion“.

He is a songwriter, singer and record producer who got very famous after featuring Ladipoe on the song “Feeling” which later on became a hit.

BNXN also gained maximum attention for his refix of “Italy” with Blaq Diamond.

BNXN has also been on a number of respectable collaborations like “Mood” with Wizkid off his “Made in Lagos deluxe album, and “Bling” with Blaqbonez, who recently released a new single- “Commander“.

To date,  BNXN has released only one extended play {EP} titled “Sorry I’m late” Sorry I’m Late is the extended play (EP) project of Nigerian Singer and songwriter BNXN, It was released on October 27, 2021, under the management of T.Y.E/ Empire Records.

It features guest appearances from Nigerian Highlife music duo, The Cavemen, and production from Steph, Perlz, Denzl, Timi Jay and Rexxie. Mixed and mastered by Vtek and Poppil.

Consequently, BNXN embarked on a “Sorry I’m late tour

Buju {BNXN} performed his first show in London on November 30, which marked  the beginning of his “Sorry I’m Late” tour.

On the 22nd of December, 2021, Buju headlined his first sold-out concert tagged ‘Buju: Sorry I am Late’, which is also his debut concert in Lagos. The concert was held at Balmoral Convection centre, Lagos.

The concert had surprise performances from top stars that include Wizkid, Burnaboy, Omah Lay, Zlatan and Zinoleesky.

Buju- BNXN has over 12 personal singles and eight songs as a featured artist.

2023 Grammys Album of the Year {AOTY} predictions

2023 Grammys Album of the Year {AOTY} predictions

2023 Grammys Album of the Year predictions

Here are Predictions for the 2023 Grammy Album of The Year category- which is one of the four major categories in Grammys. Since the deadline for nominations is September 30, 2022 and voting starts around October/November. It is only safe to say that we can make the 2023 Grammys Album of the Year Predictions now.

2023 Grammys Album of the Year Predictions

  1. “30” Adele
  2. “Harry’s House” Harry Style
  3. “Renaissance” Beyoncé
  4. “Special” Lizzo
  5. “Mr Morale and the Big Steppers” Kendrick Lamar
  6. “I never liked you” Future

Definitely, the nominations are bound to be longer than this especially since nominations have now been extended to 8 slots.

First, let’s narrow down the albums that have low probabilities of winning and why.

“I never Like You” Future

Future’s “I never liked you” is an incredible album, and like most albums that will be nominated based on 2023 Grammys Album of The Year Predictions, it spawned a Hot 100 chart topping song- “Wait for You”.

But the probability that Future wins Album of the Year is 0-6 because the category is just too tight and his album didn’t make as much global impact as most of the albums on our 2023 Grammys Album of the Year Predictions.

True, the academy doesn’t use this as criteria.

Afterall, Don Batiste won Album of The Year against contestants like Billie Eilish. Still, that was a once in a blue moon thing. And let’s be real, 2021 Grammys was a once in a Blue Moon thing.

“Mr Morale and the Big Steppers” Kendrick Lamar

2023 grammys predictions

Lamar’s album is a good one, no doubt about that, but it still stands 0-5 because, like Future’s I never Liked you”, it just doesn’t seem to have that “Album of The Year” vibe that the Grammys go for.

It doesn’t make it less of an incredible album, still it would seem that the album will receive an Album of the Year nomination based on respect for the body of work.

Albums with High-winning probabilities

4) “30” Adele

2023 album of the year grammy prediction

Adele’s Last Album of the Year win was “25” against Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” and the album was really a good one that its win was considered reasonable, to an extent. But not totally comprehendible.

Her new album spawned a chart topping Hot 100 single “Easy on Me”.

But Adele’s Chance of winning based on our 2023 Grammys Album of the Year Predictions is 0-4 because while “30” is that Album of the Year material, the recording academy would want to gravitate towards something more fresh, more original and more baring.

Adele’s “30” album checks most of these boxes, but they might want to pass her because there are albums on that list that checks the boxes more and they would want someone “new” to actually win that Album of the Year category.

Meanwhile, our 2023 Grammy Album of the Year Predictions shows that Adele still has a 60% chance of winning the award. But her chances are 0-4

Sam Smith “Unholy” Lyrics Meaning {Fully Explained}

3) “Renaissance” Beyoncé

Grammys 2023 album of the year prediction

Beyoncé has been up to something non-conformist for the past four years and it all began with her collaboration album for Africa “The Lion King: The Gift” which later won 2 Grammy Awards at the 2020 Grammys.

But Beyoncé going all out to make an album that would not sell as commercially as her other albums showed that she really has stopped caring for awards and charts.

Her loss of Album of the Year to Adele in 2016 was shocking because her album- “Lemonade” was one of the most critically acclaimed and best selling albums of 2016.

Even Adele, during her acceptance speech, stated categorically that Lemonade would have been the better choice for “Album of the Year” and not her “25” Album.

It would seem that Beyoncé unintentionally but slightly made “Lemonade” an Album of the Year material, but when she didn’t get it even though she deserved it, she must have been like “What else do I need to do??”

She has most Grammys as a singer but she has only won an award in one of the 4 major Grammy categories.

After Lemonade, Beyoncé must have pulled a middle finger to the Grammys and recorded “Renaissance” , an album she herself said was deliberately tailored towards “imperfection” as she needed a place to scream and release herself, and so did the world.

Renaissance has been tagged a “Dance Album” and there have been no visuals to support the album even though it produced a Hot 100 Chart topping song “Break my Soul”.

The lack of visuals might actually work against her getting that award based on our 2023 Grammy Album of the Year Predictions.

But Beyoncé doesn’t seem to care about that. It’s been more than a month since her album dropped and there have been no visuals.

But then again, who knows? The Grammys might decide to award her.

Beyoncé has a 65% Chance of winning the 2023 Grammy Award for Album of the Year but her chances her 0-3

2) “Special” Lizzo

Grammys 2023 album of the year prediction

What most people don’t know is that Lizzo is that person that would win the “Album of the Year” at the 2023 Grammys and everyone would be like “Oh, Lizzo. Of course. She deserves it”.

It would make not giving either Beyoncé, Adele or Harry Styles, fair.

But let’s be real, Lizzo has a 75% chance of winning the 2023 Grammy Award for Album of the Year and her chances are 0-2.

Special” has the potential of an Album of The Year material. True, it is not the most successful, although it did spawn a Chart topping Hot 100 song “About Damn Time”.

And it may not be the most critically acclaimed, but it will make the Grammys look good, that they operate on merit. Well sometimes.

Here is “Igbo and Shayo” Meaning by Burna Boy

1) “Harry’s House” Harry Styles.

Who will win album of the year at 2023 grammys

“As it was” is the longest charting Number one song on Billboard this year. But this is not the only factor that indicates that Harry Styles will win the 2023 Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

The album is personal and is literally the most resonating album and the most commercially successful among the other nominations.

Based on our Grammys 2023 Album of the Year predictions, “Harry’s House:” has an 85% chance of winning Album of the Year at the 2023 Grammys. His chances are 0-1

2023 Grammy Album of the Year Predictions

  • “I never liked you” Future- 45%
  • “Mr Morale and the Big Steppers”- 55%
  • “30”- Adele- 60%
  • “Renaissance” Beyoncé- 65%
  • “Special” Lizzo- 75%
  • “Harry’s House” Harry Styles- 85%

Nigerian Artists on Billboard Chart

Nigerian Artists on Billboard Chart

Nigerian Artists on Billboard

Here is a list of Nigerian Artists that have debuted on Billboard Chart (Past and Present)

Nigerians usually think Billboard Hot 100 is the only thing it means to be on Billboard. Meanwhile, Billboard is a Chart system that tracks songs.

Billboard Hot 100 is only a category of that Chart. There are several other charts that Billboard owns that other Nigerian Artists have debuted on.

The fact that they are not on Billboard Hot 100 does not mean they don’t have Billboard debuts on other charts.

Billboard

Billboard is an American music and entertainment magazine published weekly by Penske Media Corp.

The magazine provides music charts, news, video, opinion, reviews, events, and style related to the music industry. Its music charts include the Hot 100, the 200, and the Global 200, tracking the most popular albums and songs in different genres of music. It also hosts events, owns a publishing firm, and operates several TV shows.

November 16, 2019, cover featuring Paul McCartney and highlighting the magazine’s 125th anniversary

Billboard was founded in 1894 by William Donaldson and James Hennegan as a trade publication for bill posters. Donaldson later acquired Hennegan’s interest in 1900 for $500.

In the early years of the 20th century, it covered the entertainment industry, such as circuses, fairs, and burlesque shows, and also created a mail service for travelling entertainers.

Billboard began focusing more on the music industry as the jukebox, phonograph, and radio became commonplace.

Many topics it covered were spun-off into different magazines, including Amusement Business in 1961 to cover outdoor entertainment, so that it could focus on music.

After Donaldson died in 1925, Billboard was passed down to his children and Hennegan’s children, until it was sold to private investors in 1985, and has since been owned by various parties.

Billboard publishes a news website and weekly trade magazine that cover music, video and home entertainment. Most of the articles are written by staff writers, while some are written by industry experts.

It covers news, gossip, opinion, and music reviews, but its “most enduring and influential creation” is the Billboard charts.

The charts track music sales, radio airtime and other data about the most popular songs and albums.

The Billboard Hot 100 chart of the top-selling songs was introduced in 1958. Since then, the Billboard 200, which tracks the top-selling albums, has become more popular as an indicator of commercial success.

Billboard has also published books in collaboration with Watson-Guptill and a radio and television series called American Top 40, based on Billboard charts.

A daily Billboard Bulletin was introduced in February 1997and Billboard hosts about 20 industry events each year

Billboard is considered one of the most reputable sources of music industry news.

The website includes the Billboard Charts, news separated by music genre, videos, and a separate website. It also compiles lists, hosts a fashion website called Pret-a-Reporter, and publishes eight different newsletters.

Wizkid and Davido Tour: To be honest…

Wizkid and Davido Tour: To be honest…

Wizkid and Davido Tour: Let’s be honest…

Social Media is buzzing with the latest news in the music industry by the big bird- Wizkid, who has posted on his story that he can’t wait to go on tour with Davido.

Is Wizkid going on Tour with Davido?

Yes. Wizkid announced on his Instagram story that he would love to go on tour with Davido after he wraps up his own More Love Less Ego Tour.

But let’s be honest, is this really something that can be feasible?

First, The Wizkid and Davido Tour thought goes a long way in confirming that Wizkid actually has much love for Davido and has probably even missed him. This is not surprising as Davido has taken some time off social media to mourn his son and also to focus on his marriage to Chioma.

We have to say that the fact that Wizkid could think of going with Davido on Tour means that things are about to be very sweet between them, and we might even get a collaboration.

Meanwhile, let’s be honest. Wizkid and Davido Tour depends on a number of crucial factors.

Is Wizkid going on Tour with Davido

Wizkid said he’ll go on the tour with Davido only after he is done with his #MLLE tour– which can span several months. There are also rumors that Davido is planning to release his new album in 2023.

If Wizkid goes on Tour and Davido releases a new album, their Tour might not come to fruition or might take very long before it comes to fruition.

Besides, it takes two to tango. If Wizkid has the time to go on Tour with Davido and it just so happens that Davido is busy around that period, it might not happen.

On the other hand, the good news is that Davido might have actually agreed to the before Wizkid posted it on his Instagram story

But till then, fingers crossed, we really hope that Wizkid and Davido actually go on Tour together!

The Best 2022 Nigerian Albums So Far

Here is a list of the best 2022 Nigerian Albums so far brought to you by The Scoove Africa.

Even Number years comes with the release of Albums in Nigeria. In 2020, Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Omah Lay, and a lot of other artists released albums. This year has seen so many albums that we can’t wait to share with you in our rankings.

Ranked, here is a list of The Best 2022 Nigerian Albums so far.

10) Chike “The Brother’s Keeper”

Top 10 2022 nigerian albums

Chike’s The Brother Keeper is a follow up to his critically acclaimed debut album “Boo of the Booless“. The reviews that have poured in indicated that The Brother’s Keeper matched up to the power of the singer’s debut album, and is indeed an incredible album.

It is definitely one of the top ten 2022 Nigerian albums

☆Rating: 6.8/10

9) “More Love Less Ego” Wizkid

Top 10 Nigerian 2022 albums

Wizkid’s More Love Less Ego thrives on Wizkid’s soulful and impressive delivery combined with his vocals which makes the songs so musical. Meanwhile, the lack of creativity on the album and the absence of diversity in song themes is a far shot from the artistic development expected from Wikzid’s Fifth Studio album.

☆Rating: 6.9/10

8) “Rave and Roses” Rema

What are the best 2022 albums in Nigeria

Rave & Roses

Rema had an extremely successful release with his debut album “Rave and Roses”.

However, the album generated majorly negative reviews from critics. Examining the album objectively, it sounds like most of the songs sound alike in terms of lyrics and themes.

Yes, we know Rema is now in that stage where he is expressing his sexual self in numerous ways, but those are not the only things to sing about and it definitely didn’t help the album.

It is making the list of the best 2022 Nigerian albums because in terms of mixing and production, and to some extent, Relatability, it doesn’t fall short.

☆Rating: 7/10

7) “Boy Alone” Omah Lay

Omah Lay, like Burna Boy, is not just a singer, but an artist. When you listen to songs like “Understand” and “Godly”, the music sounds so timeless and extremely relatable.

His first two Eps: “Get layd” and “What have we done” racked up huge streaming numbers and put him right in the spotlight.

However, “Boy Alone” comes with such a dinky light behind his first two projects.

The songwriting on the album is brain-bursting, but the delivery is majorly the sabotaging element of the album. The songs are really deep, and are as true as an artist can be, but “Boy Alone” actually possesses the emotional power it was supposed to possess.

Its authenticity makes it one of the best 2022 Nigerian albums so far.

☆Rating: 7.3/10

6) “19 & Dangerous” Deluxe Ayra Starr

Top 10 2022 Nigerian albums

19 and Dangerous is Ayra Starr’s response to her fans that she has found her sound. With songs like “Rush” and “Bridgertn”, the music diva is fast establishing the factvtaht she is becoming Nigeria’s Queen of Music.

Her diversity is next to none

☆Rating: 7.5/10

5) Catch me If You Can” Adekunle Gold

Top Nigerian albums 2022

Catch Me if you Can

“Catch me if you can” is one of the best 2022 Nigerian albums so far because it speaks to Adekunle’s growth and evolution in the music industry.

Adekunle Gold went from singing songs like “Ire” and “Orente” to singing “High” and “Sinner”. How do you measure that?”

Adekunle Gold answered that by recording “Catch me if you can”, and as albums go, it’s has its fair share of replay value.

True, some of the songs on the album did not produce hit songs, but they are solid tracks that will get an audience entertained in a concert.

☆Rating: 7.6/10

4) “V” Asa

Top 10 Nigerian albums 2022

V

“V” is an emotionally empowering album that sees Asa releasing herself to so many emotions and admitting that love comes with its flaws, but this doesn’t make it less desirable.

The album produce d a couple of hit songs of which are “Show me off” “IDG ft. Wizkid” and “Mayana”.

“V” is on our list of one of the best 2022 Nigerian Album because it has a good replay value, and the artistry on the album is commendable. It is not as powerful as Asa’s first two albums, but it is definitely better than “Lucid” her 2019 album.

☆Rating: 7.6/10

3) “Mr Money with The Vibe” Asake.

Top 10 2022 Nigerian albums

Mr Money with The Vibe Album shows that Asake’s growth has increased with the need to give people an insight into his sound, and we actually do.

Asake is a dancehall artist that incorporates elements of Fuji and Afro-classic into his sound. Mr Money with The Vibe shows that Asake is more of a song performer than he is a songwriter.

Undeniably, some of the songs on the album show evidence of thoughtful lyricism, but we are taken aback by the sheer ordinariness of a few songs on the album which either sound incomplete or like a freestyle.

Other than this, Mr Money with The Vibe Album reviews implores us to give Asake an applause. For a debut album, Asake has sealed his status into the music industry and has proved that he will have a successful career with die-hard fans.

It is definitely one of the top ten 2022 Nigerian albums

☆Rating: 7.6/10

2) “Love, Damini” Burna Boy.

Top 2022 Nigerian albums

Love, Damini

Burna Boy is not a singer. He is an artist. And there is a difference because while a singer just sings songs because they are inspired to and because they know they can sing, an artist explores their musicality and evolves with it. “Twice as Tall” and “African Giant” were considerably good albums.

Meanwhile, “Love, Damini”, while being very emotional and authentic, does not entirely match up to the power of these former albums.

Don’t get it wrong, it is definitely the best 2022 Nigerian Albums so far. Meanwhile, of all 19 songs on the album, only 8 songs stand out.

☆Rating: 7.8/10.

Nigerian Artists on Billboard Chart

1)”Playboy” Fireboy DML

Best 2022 Nigerian albums

Playboy by Fireboy

So far, Playboy album has proved to be the best 2022 Nigerian album so far because of its huge replay value. Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini” would have easily taken this spot, but there are definitely skips on Love, Damini album.

This may be because Burna Boy had 19 songs on the album, but he doesn’t take away from the fact that the album was a really good listen. The amount of authenticity and sound evolution that Playboy has is just incomparable.

☆Rating: 8/10.

Vibes on the Beach with Big Wiz…

This night, Wizkid will bring a lot of energy to Vibes on the beach with Big Wiz concert and lagosians wouldn’t get enough of it.

About Vibes on the Beach with Big Wiz

Vibes on the Beach with Big Wiz is usually an annual homecoming concert organized by Wizkid for his fans.

However, it didn’t hold for some years but the last Vibes on the beach with Big Wiz held around 2021.

This year, Wizkid has decided to bring back “Vibes on the Beach with Big Wiz”- a festival he dubbed will be the last time he performs in Lagos.

Details on Vibes on the Beach with Big Wiz

  • Venue: Landmark Beach
  • Ticket(s): 30k, 50k, 1M, 2M, 3M, 5M

Vibes on the beach with Big Wiz

This might have been viewed as an attempt to make people come to the concert but it seems like Wizkid is not joking.

For someone who sold out Madison Square Garden, performing at a Lagos Beach does seem ridiculous.

Meanwhile, the idea around it is that Lagos is Wizkid’s hometown and although he definitely doesn’t need the money, he should consider performing in Lagos even if it is once in a year.

All the way, Vibes on the Beach with Big Wiz promises to an intriguing festival with a lot of dance, energy and most importantly, good music

Let’s get the groove in!
