{Intro: Rema}

Fresh young nigga puffin’ on a cigar

{Verse 1: Rema}
Wake up in the mornin’ then I cook up in the kitchen
Put some water in the cup, ice freezin’
Seein’ clips from last night intriguin’
I can’t remember that chick I was kissin’
Couldn’t even get her number
Hatin’ ass niggas dema envy
When I dey with their babe in the VIP lounge
Itâs a young boy fresh P Star life
Seven zero P, yeah Star life
Me and my niggas we dey chop life
Top noche models on my bed side
All white shoes dema Off-white
Chat nonsense to me Iâma go offline
Miami beach, chillinâ with the baddest bitch
Fuck her in the west, then I fly her to the south side
Ainât nobody fly like me, ahan
Spendinâ on expensive shit, ahan
Neck and my wrist icy, ahan
Small boy, but I mighty, ahan
Ainât nobody fly like me, ahan
Spendinâ on expensive shit, ahan
Neck and my wrist icy, ahan
Them never see this kind thing
Yes Iâma fresh young nigga
Celebrity crush in my villa
Take off her skirt and I give it to her
Raw, raw, raw
She want it raw, raw, raw
She said donât stop, stop, stop
She like it when I hit it from the
Bottom to the top
Then I took her for a ride, ride, ride
Cruisinâ in the sun side
Fast money, fast life
Niggas wanna take my life
Yeah, yeah, why?
Ainât nobody fly like me, ahan
Spendinâ on expensive shit, ahan
Neck and my wrist icy, ahan
Small boy, but I mighty, ahan
Ainât nobody fly like me, ahan
Spendinâ on expensive shit, ahan
Neck and my wrist icy, ahan
Them never see this kind thing
{AJ Tracey:}
(Yeah, yeah)
Iâm the youngest nigga doinâ this fly shit (Tracey)
And I ainât talkinâ âbout essentials my nigga (Uh)
Iâm talkinâ about the penthouse or the Arabic villa (That one)
Or the fresh Cuban cigars with the cannabis filler (Woah)
Iâm on a different kind of time (Thatâs right)
I grab the sea bass with the chopsticks
and hit it with the lime (One time)
Ainât no askinâ about my lady,
you can bet that sheâs fine (Fine)
Body like the fourty-two and
she gets better with time, yeah (Boo-boo)
The Maybach leather came in elephantâs breath
These kinda colours you donât know
unless your earninâs are blessed (Bling-blow)
Threw some shots of opposition not for war just a test (Uh)
Intoxicated by revenge
this heat is burning his chest (Cling, cling)
I got this suit in navy blue, but chose the burgundy breast
AP fresh, my watch collection murder the rest (Bling-blow)
Youâre hearinâ lies if you ainât heard, Iâm the best
Me and Rema for the remedy to purge you the stress, uh
{Rema}
Ainât nobody fly like me, ahan
Spendinâ on expensive shit, ahan
Neck and my wrist icy, ahan
Small boy, but I mighty, ahan
Ainât nobody fly like me, ahan
Spendinâ on expensive shit, ahan
Neck and my wrist icy, ahan
Them never see this kind thing
Fresh young nigga cruisinâ in a beamer
Fresh young nigga cruisinâ in a beamer
Fresh young nigga puffinâ on a cigar
Fresh young nigga puffinâ on a cigar
Fresh young nigga cruisinâ in a beamer
Fresh young nigga cruisinâ in a beamer
Fresh young nigga puffinâ on a cigar
Those are the lyrics to Fresh young Nigga by Rema featuring Aj Tracey
Remaâs Fresh Young Nigga featuring AJ Tracey is an okay song, but there are so many things that would have made it a better listen, so here it goes:
Lyrics
Rema tries with his lyrics on Fresh Young Nigga, but even as he flaunts his lifestyle and choices, we struggle to see how Remaâs lyrics on Fresh Young Nigga are synonymous with being a Fresh Young Nigga.
True, it sounds like what any other Fresh Young Nigga should do. But more suitable lyrics should have been used on Fresh Young Nigga.
The funny thing is that Rema takes on most of the verse on Fresh Young Nigga with his lyrics while AJ Tracey just has like a verse left to drop his lyrics on. His bars are strong though.
Delivery
Rema sounds convincing with Fresh Young Nigga.
His delivery is on point and this improves the overall performance of the song.
Although, AJ Traceyâs delivery is less passionate, Remaâs delivery covers for this. Rema delivered well on Fresh Young Nigga.
Mixing and Production
The mixing and Production on Fresh Young Nigga leaves so much to be desired.
it affects the song a lot.
Itâs like a lot of things were going on with the mixing board and the producers didnât know what beats or sounds to use on Fresh Young Nigga.
Although it gets better, but that point between Remaâs entry and the next ten seconds are so not satisfactory.
The lyrics do not lay well on the beats as much as they should.
Replay Value
Remaâs Fresh Young Nigga has its fair share of replay value, but the song has its many flaws which might affect its replay value.
Although the defense is that Remaâs Fresh Young Nigga will have an increased replay value because of Remaâs delivery- but this is not a complete assurance.
Flaws
The flaws on Remaâs Fresh Young Nigga have been highlighted. But the overall flaw is that Remaâs Fresh Young Nigga is stereotypical- too stereotypical.
The lyric choices apart, does being a Fresh Young Nigga mean sleeping with girls all the time and âspending on expensive shitâ?
It sounds like this gospel is what Rema tries to spread but it is not as simple as that.
It just sets into the norm so much that it makes the song too conventional.
If anything, peopleâs expectations about Remaâs Fresh Young Nigga song is that it represents Remaâs evolution as a teenager to a big young artist.

Rave and Roses: What to expect from Rema’s debut album
Rema has announced his forthcoming studio album titled “Rave and Roses” and everyone is impatiently waiting for it and talking about it.Â
So far, Rema doesn’t have an album, which is why people are excited to hear his debut album- Rave and Roses.
The release date for Rema’s Rave and Roses album is March 25, 2022.
While we are all excited for Rema’s forthcoming album, here is why his debut album- Rave and Roses, is worth the wait, and here are our expectations:
What we expect from Rema’s debut album
1) CollaborationsÂ
Here are a few collaborations we think can be on Rema’s rave and roses album:Â
Rema belongs to two incredible labels – Mavins and Jonzing with so many amazing artists like Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, Ruger, Crayon, Magixx and Johnny Drille.
One can only assume that at least one of these should make the album.
In the past few weeks, Rema has been touring the U.S and linking up with different superstar artists like Chris Brown, rapper Swae Lee, and Lil Nas X.
He recently just made a viral tik tok video of him and Jason Derulo dancing to his latest banger calm down.Â
Speaking of superstars, another possible collaboration on rave and roses could be with afropop sensation, Fireboy DMl.
Both artists have been seen cozying up to each other of recent, with Rema coming out for Fireboy at his show in L.A last and Fireboy posting a story of him vibing to calm down on his instagram.
The two are also ambassadors for monster energy drink and have linked up plenty of times. Infact, its possible they are both on each otherâs projects as Fireboy also has an album lined up for this year.
Moving on to the collaborations rema himself as confirmed; speaking in an interview with capital xtra, rema was asked if he could name any collabos on the album and he mentioned:
â6Lack-pronounced as black,Â
âUK artist Mahalia and,
âAj tracey.Â
When asked if he could name more, he said he couldnât but stressed that they were a few more collaborations on the album.
2) Jams
Rema’s Rave and Roses album is going to be full of Jams! I mean, he already released two singles off the album and while Soundgasm topped chart and did well on streaming platforms.
Calm down has set a very good precedence for Rema’s Rave and Roses album.
The song is literally everywhere and people are vibing to it hard. Because, it is what it is- A jam. It is this same way we are making a certifying prediction that Rema’s Rave and Roses will be full of hit songs.
No…y’all ain’t ready for it. Besides, Rema belongs to Mavin Record Label and no member of Mavins has had a bad entry into the music industry, even with their debut albums.
I mean, look at Ayra Starr, who might be having a collaboration with Kelly Rowland anyway.
Judging from Calm down, “Calm down” is a song about Rema- or the singer’s persona in this case, seeking a lady’s love interest. However, the issue here is trust- Which the lady believes Rema does not possess.
On “Calm down“, Rema tries to allay her fears by telling her that she should “Calm down” and not feel all “Insecure” because:
“If I tell you say I love you, no dey do iyanga”
On “Calm down”, Rema expresses that he loves the girl in question and that he wants her.
He uses descriptive lyrics to explain how desirable her body is and how he wants it no matter what because he can’t get his mind off her.
He even says he can’t take a “no” from her.
Therefore, it may be right for her to not express so much trust in Rema since her body is his attraction. Which means if he sees another lady with better “qualities“, he would “fall” in love with her too.
He says the lady’s body puts him on “Lockdown” because he can’t do anything else but think of her- or her body in this case.
Meanwhile, in Rema’s defense, the lady should “Calm down” and trust him because there are actually more girls who want him but he doesn’t like them like he does the girl.
He says:
“If you leave me, I no go fall in love again”
Blaqbonezâs âBreaking the Yoke of loveâ Crusade concert
Storytelling
On “Calm down“, Rema employs storytelling to get us interested in the song.
He even discusses how he met her in a party and apart from her body, he says her character of being “Mellow” rather than other girls doing “too much” is what attracts him.
He says “other girls commot like chewing gum” but the girl is permanent.
This storytelling plot on Rema’s “Calm down” makes the song hold you down till it ends.
If Rema did something else other than this on “Calm down“, “Calm down” would have been a boring listen. But the storytelling makes it an intriguing listen.

RelatabilityÂ
“Calm down” is a relatable song because it happens that what most guys observe first before even seeing a lady’s character is her body.
It is the point of attraction for most guys, and in “Calm down“, Rema asserts it is what has put him on “Lockdown“.
Being on “Lockdown” is the default for most guys when they want a lady. They they can never “Calm down” while showing the lady that they desire her so much. So yes, Rema’s “Calm down” is very relatable.
3) Mixing and ProductionÂ
One of the things we are looking forward to on Rema’s Rave and Roses album, is delicious mixing and production.
We called it that because, no matter how good a song is, if it lacks appropriate mixing and production, it has no replay value.
In contemporary Afrobeats, emphasis is being placed on more than just vibes because there is now a demand on our artists to deliver reasonable songs with acceptable sounds and beats.
Of course, Johnny Drille mixed and mastered Ayra Starr’s while album, but this does not mean he will mix Rema’s album. We would not mind though. It just means that the album will even be a mad one!
{Please God, let it be Johnny Drille}
So yes, from Rema’s Rave and Roses album, we expect intriguing collaborations, dope mixing and production, and amazing song themes.
The release date for Rema’s Rave and Roses album is Friday, March 25, 2022. Rave and Roses is Rema’s debut album.
