“Far From Home” Netflix Series: All you need to know
Netflix, in collaboration with Inkblot Studios have released the official trailer for its first Nigerian young adult series titled ‘Far From Home’
The 5-part limited series will be available only on Netflix from December 16th.
Plot of Far From Home Netflix series
Far From Home tells the story of Ishaya Bello (Mike Afolarin), a charismatic teenager and talented artist from a poor family whose dreams suddenly appear within reach when a prestigious scholarship to the most exclusive school in the country, Wilmer Academy, catapults him into the affluent world of Nigeria’s elite.
All the while a huge secret threatens Ishaya’s newfound status and, ultimately, his family’s safety.
Far From Home Netflix series was created by Chinaza Onuzo and Dami Elebe. The series was directed by Catherine Stewart, Kayode Kasum and Kenneth Gyang. It also boasts a very respectable writer’s room of Dami Elebe (Skinny girl in Transit, The Men’s Club) Nki’ru Njoku (MTV Shuga), Jola Ayeye(The Smart Money Woman), Abosi Agba (Day of Destiny), Chiemeka Osuagwu (The Blood Covenant)

Far From Home Netflix series looks like it’s going to be a story of ambition, love, friendships and betrayal.
Ishaya, our main man, is a struggling artist working at a nightclub for a shady nightclub owner. In his desire to achieve his dream, he steals from his boss and gets caught. To pay back, he unwillingly gets sucked into the drug game.
Will Ishaya end up destroying his life and that of his family in pursuit of his dreams?
How does Ishaya fare in a school meant for the elite? Which friendships are formed? And which enemies are made?

Meet The Cast
Netflix’s highly anticipated Nigerian young adult original series ‘Far From Home’ has finally dropped their official cast list for the show which premieres worldwide on December 16th only on Netflix.
The cast were carefully selected by inkblot studios through a series of auditions. To make sure the cast of Nigeria’s first ever Netflix young adult show was perfect.
We daresay they succeeded in picking a really talented and beautiful cast who will no doubt do justice to the show. Let’s meet the cast of Far From Home.
- Mike Afolarin as Ishayo Bello: Ishaya Bello is a charismatic teenager and talented artist from a poor family whose dreams suddenly appear within reach when a prestigious scholarship to the most exclusive school in the country, Wilmer Academy, catapults him into the affluent world of Nigeria’s elite.
- Elma Mbadiwe as Carmen Wilmer-Willoughby: Carmen is the daughter of Feyi and Mabel Wilmer-Willoughby. She seems like a mean girl at first but is really a softie on the inside.
- Genoveva Umeh as Ozinna: Zina is a close friend of Ishaya and Frank. Zina is the type of person who would give everything for her friends.
- Bucci Frankin as Government: Government is a shady nightclub owner who makes Ishaya sell drugs for him after Ishaya stole from him.
- Funke Akindele as Patricia: Patricia is Ishaya and Rahila’s mum. She doesn’t think Ishaya can make it to Wilmer academy.
- Olumide Oworu as Atlas: Atlas is Carmen’s boyfriend. He is also a talented artist and he has a never ending rivalry with Ishaya.
- Emeka Nwagbaraocha as Frank: Frank is close friends with Zina and Ishaya.
- Gbubemi Ejeye as Adufe: not a student of Wilmer Academy but has close relations with the students of Wilmer Academy.
- Tomi Ojo as Rahila: Rahila is Ishaya’s sister.
- Bolanle Ninalowo as Oga Rambo: a colleague of Government.
- Ruby P. Okezie as Nnenna: a student at Wilmer Academy.
- Natse Jemide as Reggie: a student of Wilmer Academy and captain of the football team.
- Raymond Umenze as Denrele: a student at Wimer Academy.
- Adesua Etomi-Wellington as Ms. Irurhe: an art teacher at Wilmer Academy.
- Richard Mofe-Damijo as Feyi Wilmer-Willoughby: co-owner of Wilmer Academy and father of Carmen.
- Bimbo Akintola as Mabel Wilmer-Willoughby: co-owner of Wilmer Academy and mother of Carmen. She is stuck up and looks down on people not in the same economic class as her.
- Paul Adams as Ishaya Snr. : Ishaya’s father. He is also a talented artist but failed to achieve his dreams.
- Carol King as Principal Gemade: the principal at Wilmer Academy.
- Linda Ejiofor as Ms. Abubakar: a secretary at Wilmer Academy.
- Femi Branch as Babatunde: a rich man
