Here is the meaning of the lyrics of blood on the dance floor by Odumodublvck
Odumodu Blood on the dance floor lyrics meaning
Blood on the dance floor lyrics meaning by Odumodu infers the calculated moves the singer makes in his relationship with people. He states that in his dealings with people, he always makes decisions that ensures that he is the one winning and not the one going with tail between his legs.
Also, Odumodu Blood on the dance floor lyrics meaning hints at the fact that he is so focused on hitting his target all the time because that’s the only way he can stay ahead of others and win, because if he misses, others come in and take over what belongs to him.
It is at this point that Odumodu Blood on the dance floor lyrics meaning becomes clearer. The singer draws a comparison between life and relationships with man, and hunting for a game in the forest. This is why he says:
All I know is that when I dey cock,
I hit and go (Hit and go)
All I know is that when I been shoot,
I hit their own (Hit their own)
All I know is that when I dey cock,
I hit and go (Hit and go, oh)
All they know is that when
I been shoot, I hit their own, so
This infers that when others are not smart or quick enough to grab opportunities, Odumodu does it for them by shooting and “hitting their own“. Now, he says that if they are not smart to grab opportunities, then they should not come looking for him with accusations as though he stole their dreams. This is why he says: “Did it on their own turf/so why they wanna bring blood/down on my front door?”
Hence “Blood on the dance floor” is a reference to the fight Odumodu is prepared to have with anyone who dares to challenge him for going after opportunities or allegedly “seizing what belonged to them” when they are not smart enough to take it.
In Verse 3, Blood on the dance floor lyrics meaning by Odumodu even becomes clearer when Wale says:
Run for your life, they gonâ come for your life
And my one true advice, bring a gun to the fight
Let it go, let it go
Kiss the kids and the wife
Over here shit get real,
like for real could bad when they roll
I ainât âbout to go out like a motherfucker ho
Bring it to my door, Iâma send you to the goat
The thing about war, you will never know closure
The windows close, they be in the back door
And I donât trust nothing but this God-given flow
Dobale to Folarin when you pass Ondo
They crash out for me, âcause I ride for my folks
Take the chance if you want, we gonâ dance if you go
The lyrics above indicates that life is all about survival of the fittest and a man must do whatever he can to protect his family. War and conflicts are unavoidable in most cases because humans do not want the same things, most humans only understand the language of violence, and if a man is not ready, he would only become their prey. It’s better to fight it and stand one’s ground than to go out like a pathetic person who can’t stand for what he believes in or even stand to protect those he loves. This is why Wale says: “Over here shit get real/like for real could go bad when they roll/I ain’t about to go out like a motherfucker ho”
