Wednesday Meaning: Why Wednesday is called Wednesday

A lot of people think Wednesday meaning is because that was the day she was born. According to Morticia, her mother, Wednesday meaning is borne out of the fact that it is a line from one of her favorite Nursery rhymes “Wednesday’s Child is full of woe”.

Shocking? Well it shouldn’t surprise you, it’s the Addams’ family. They take pleasure in such things. On the contrary, a lot of people think Wednesday meaning is because that was the day she was born

Her mother named her Wednesday because she felt the child would be one of woe and take after her, as inferred in her favorite Nursery rhyme.

Why is Wednesday called Wednesday

Wednesday  Addams is a fictional character created by American cartoonist Charles Addams, the only daughter in The Addams Family. The character has also appeared in television, film, and in video games, in both the live-action and animated formats.

Wednesday is the sister of Pugsley Addams (and, in the 1993 movie Addams Family Values, Pubert Addams) and as such the only daughter of Gomez and Morticia Addams. In earlier adaptations she is the younger sister of Pugsley, and in later adaptations she becomes the older one.

That’s Wednesday meaning as named by Morticia Addams

About

Wednesday is an American coming of age supernatural comedy horror television series based upon the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, it stars Jenna Ortega as the titular character, with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Fred Armisen, and Christina Ricci appearing in supporting roles. Four out of the eight episodes are directed by Tim Burton, who also serves as executive producer.

Wednesday premiered on November 16, 2022, and was released on Netflix on November 23 to generally positive reviews by critics, who praised Ortega’s performance, but criticized it for its similarities to CW dramas

Wednesday Friday Addams is a fictional character created by American cartoonist Charles Addams, the only daughter in The Addams Family. The character has also appeared in television, film, and in video games, in both the live-action and animated formats.

In Addams’ cartoons, which first appeared in The New Yorker, Wednesday and other members of the family had no names. When the characters were adapted to the 1964 television series, Charles Addams gave her the name “Wednesday”, based on the nursery rhyme line, “Wednesday’s child is full of woe”.

The idea for the name was supplied by the actress and poet Joan Blake, an acquaintance of Addams.

Wednesday Addams is a 13-year-old who is obsessed with death. Wednesday does most of her experiments on her brother Pugsley Addams for “fun” or for punishment. Wednesday has tried to kill Pugsley many times. She likes raising spiders and researching the Bermuda Triangle. She has a tendency to startle people due to her gothic personality.

Wednesday’s most notable features are her pale skin and long, dark braided pigtails. She seldom shows her emotions and is generally bitter. Wednesday usually wears a black dress with a white collar, black stockings, and black shoes.

Wednesday meaning

In the 1960s series, she is sweet-natured and serves as a foil to the weirdness of her parents and brother, although her favorite hobby is raising spiders; she is also a ballerina. Wednesday’s favorite toy is her Marie Antoinette doll, which her brother guillotines (at her request). She is stated to be six years old in the television series pilot episode. In one episode, she is shown to have several other headless dolls as well. She also paints pictures (including a picture of trees with human heads) and writes a poem dedicated to her favorite pet spider, Homer. Wednesday is deceptively strong; she is able to bring her father down with a judo hold.

In the 1991 film, she is depicted in a darker fashion. She shows sadistic tendencies and a dark personality and is revealed to have a deep interest in the Bermuda Triangle and an admiration for an ancestor (Great Aunt Calpurnia Addams) who was burned as a witch in 1706.

In the 1993 sequel, she was even darker: she buried a live cat, tried to guillotine her baby brother Pubert, set fire to Camp Chippewa, and (possibly) scared fellow camper, Joel, to death. These films were the first version of The Addams Family in which violent or horrific acts could be depicted on-camera rather than implied, which makes Wednesday’s personality difficult to define: in the first film, she is seen to successfully electrify her brother Pugsley in an electric chair, but she and Morticia express no surprise that he is neither killed nor even harmed.

In the animated series and Canadian TV series The New Addams Family from the 1990s, Wednesday retains her appearance and her taste for darkness and torture; she is portrayed as having her parents’ consent to tie Pugsley to a chair and torture him with a branding iron and ice pick.

“Blood and Water” Season 3 Cast & Expectations

“Blood and Water” Season 3 Cast & Expectations

BLOOD AND WATER SEASON 3 CAST, EXPECTATIONS AND PLOT

It’s a new year at Parkhurst High and it can only mean one thing. More suspense and mystery!

  • What will the gang be up to this season?
  • Which relationships will thrive?

We can’t wait to find out when the new season of Blood and Water comes out on Friday, November 25th. Only on Netflix.

The last season ended in dramatic fashion when Fikile basically got dragged out of the matric ball by her dad and the police because her mom, Nwabisa was kidnapped from prison.

We now know Fikile and Puleng are sisters but there’s a twist, Puleng’s dad is not Fikile’s dad which means Puleng’s mom cheated on her Dad. Oops.

Blood and Water season 3 looks like it’s going to be the best season yet.

Trailer

The first line in the trailer is ‘Puleng, one choice can affect your whole life’. That sentence carries a lot of weight and knowing Puleng, she WILL make a choice that affects her whole life.

This line is followed by a car crash, with a car summersaulting many times, it appears to be Puleng and her Dad in the car.

Then what looks like someone being interrogated by the police, which means something bad has probably happened.

This sets the tone and lets you know this is going to be the most dangerous, dark and twisted season yet.

Watch full trailer here:

BLOOD AND WATER SEASON 3 CAST

  • Ama Qamata as Puleng Khumalo

Blood and Water Season 3 Cast & Expectations

1) Puleng-KB-Wade Love Triangle

Blood and Water season 3 cast

It looks like the love triangle that’s been going on for the past two seasons continues this season with KB being the “side ting” this year.

Still maintaining their lead roles in Blood and Water Season 3 cast, Puleng, KB and Wade are in for uncertainty and cnflicting emotions

In the trailer, KB tells Puleng “I don’t want us to be over” . She says “I’ve moved on” KB then asks “have you?”

Cast of Blood and Water season 3

I don’t think she has KB!!!

Let’s not forget at the end of season 2, after Puleng broke up with KB, she started dating Wade. Only for her to go behind Wade’s back and kiss KB in the backroom at the matric ball.

Wena Puleng! Make up your mind

“Blood Sisters” Netflix Cast

2) Fikile Has Her Hands Full…

Blood and Water season 3 plot

To an extent, it seems Fikile will be the Major Blood and Water Season 3 cast because the series is becoming more and more about her than it is about Puleng.

I feel Fikile is going to have things tough this season, but then again hasn’t she always?

At the end of season 2, Fikile found out her parents were not her actual birth parents, and worse her Mom had trafficked her as a child.

Now, Fikile has to deal with getting to know her new family better and trying to save the old one which she very much still loves.

Oh, let’s not forget Nwabisa, her mom, was kidnapped from Prison, so she’s going to be spending a lot of time trying to find her.

She doesn’t seem to have a lot of luck in relationships too, she thinks she has found the one and then he gets whisked off to witness protection.

Lisbeth is Going to be a Problem

Lisbeth was introduced in a cliffhanger at the end of season 2 as the person who kidnapped Nwabisa, Fikile’s mom, from prison.

She had left when KB was still a baby and the Phume case was adjudged to be the reason she had gone into exile.

Also, she is probably the real leader of the human trafficking ring and she was controlling her empire from afar.

Her being back means things have gone out of control and she’s here to contain it before it gets worse

In the trailer, she said would do anything to protect her family. I’m indulged to think that would include murder or worse.

Meet the Cast of “Anikulapo” Movie

3) Puleng “Holmes”

Blood and Water season 3 plot

In season 1 and 2, we witnessed Puleng,  put on her detective hat and go to lengths to prove that Fikile was indeed her long lost sister, Phumelele Khumalo.

From sneaking out at night to visiting shady neighbourhoods and houses in search of answers, there was nothing that girl did not do. In the end she succeeded and I’m sure Sherlock Holmes is really proud.

In this new season, Puleng will be the major Blood and Water season 3 cast and she is definitely up to her antics again and this time it looks like her mission is to bring down the human trafficking syndicate.

But it also means more trouble and we hope our girl stays safe.

4) The Henchman

Blood and Water season 3 cast

The human trafficking story arc is going to introduce new characters, Lisbeth being one of them.

But one to look out for is the henchman. The henchman was introduced at the end of season 2 when he was sent to watch and eventually attack Sam’s mom.

His character seems like one the audience would love to hate, I mean he was pointing a gun at our dear Puleng.

He would definitely be used to perpetuate a lot of crime. I see him being a very important character.

The Henchman looks like the latest addition to Blood and Water Season 3 Cast

About

Lakunle, a shy man with a flair for creating unique and entertaining stories, is content with narrating his stories to his opportunistic and outspoken friend Sanmi, who goes ahead to tell these stories at parties and joints; making him famous in the village.

The one thing Lakunle desires is the love of Tiwa, the fairest girl in the land. He asks his friend Sanmi to assist him in getting Tiwa’s attention but Sanmi in his characteristic selfishness betrays his friend as he tries to get Tiwa for himself.

Upon finding out Sanmi’s tricks, their friendship breaks down. Tiwa and Lakunle get along and fall in love while Sanmi is disgraced when at the behest of the king; he is unable to come up with a worthy story. Driven by jealousy, Sanmi attacks Tiwa and Lakunle, unwittingly killing Tiwa in the process.

‘The Griot’  premiered at the this year’s African International Film Festival (AFRIFF), slated to hold in Lagos this November. The film also stars Abiodun Kassim, Sharon Jatto, Toyin Oshinaike, Rita Edward, Opeyemi Dada, Imoh Eboh, Caroline Igben and Abimbola Adebayo.

The Griot cast

According to Movies R Net, The film starts with a man narrating a captivating story about a water demon and how she lured a person into her trap. Lakunle, the storyteller comes up with unique and good stories, but he doesn’t have the confidence to show his art to the world. He is secretly in love with Tiwa, a famous singer, and asks his friend Sanmi to help him communicate his feelings. Being underconfident didn’t go well with him as he almost lost his love and credit for the stories that he made.

Sanmi being an opportunistic person takes advantage of Lakunle and creates a drift between Tiwa and Lakunle. His cleverness made him get into the good side of the King. The King was a sick man and with Sanmi’s stolen stories, he recovered. Sanmi was awarded the position of chief by the King. Soon with King’s help, he managed to almost marry Tiwa until Lakunle’s dad stepped in after knowing the truth behind Sanmi’s mischiefs. The father brought Tiwa to their home and clearer the air between the girl and Lakunle. They both ended up confessing their feelings and made plans to expose Sanmi.

With a duration of 109 minutes, The Griot was able to tell us a lot of things. The film is based on the story of a wonderful storyteller. The writers of the movie are also great storytellers themselves. The various things that have been shown in 109 minutes are huge and that isn’t expected from many movies. The actors have put in their best efforts, and the same can be felt when you feel attracted to the screen. There wasn’t a moment in The Griot when the audience will feel bored.

“Bala Blu Bulaba” Meaning? Tinubu to Owerri Residents

The Griot is a good watch with elements that blend well with each other. It is often noticed that when writers try to show numerous things, they often go off track, but the same didn’t happen with The Griot. It is a quality movie that deserves to be seen and get popular among the audience. Things like never cheating on your friends, being true to yourself and your art, and being confident are some of the lessons the movie delivers to its audience.

About

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a 2022 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Black Panther. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the sequel to Black Panther (2018) and the 30th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The film is directed by Ryan Coogler, who co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole, and stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Dominique Thorne, Florence Kasumba, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett. In the film, the leaders of Wakanda fight to protect their nation in the wake of King T’Challa’s death.

Ideas for a sequel began after the release of Black Panther in February 2018. Coogler negotiated to return as director in the following months, and Marvel Studios officially confirmed the sequel’s development in mid-2019.

Plans for the film changed in August 2020 when Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman died from colon cancer, with Marvel choosing not to recast his role of T’Challa. Other main cast members from the first film were confirmed to return by that November, and the title was announced in May 2021. Production initially took place from late June to early November 2021, in Atlanta and Brunswick, Georgia, as well as around Massachusetts, before a hiatus to allow Wright to recover from an injury sustained during filming. Production resumed by mid-January 2022 and wrapped in late March in Puerto Rico.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premiered at the El Capitan Theatre and the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on October 26, 2022, and will be released in the United States on November 11, 2022, as the final film in Phase Four of the MCU.

With the release of Black Panther in February 2018, producer Kevin Feige said there were “many, many stories” to tell about the character, and he wanted director and co-writer Ryan Coogler to return for any sequel;

Marvel Studios wanted to keep the creative team as intact as possible,[30] while Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan F. Horn, despite feeling it was too early to discuss a sequel, was also positive about the desire to have Coogler return as director.

Coogler wanted to see how Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa / Black Panther would grow as a king in future films, since his reign only recently began in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in contrast to the comics in which he had been king since childhood.

In March 2018, Feige said there was nothing specific to reveal about a sequel, but Marvel had ideas and a “pretty solid direction” on where they wanted to take a second film.

That month, Boseman’s agent Michael Greene was in negotiations for the actor to return as T’Challa in two planned Black Panther sequels for a reported pay of $10 million and $20 million, respectively.

By October, Coogler had closed a deal to write and direct a sequel to Black Panther. Despite both Marvel and Coogler having always intended to work together again after the first film’s success, Coogler avoided rushing into a deal. Negotiations with Coogler were completed “under the radar” in the months following the first film’s release. He was expected to begin writing the sequel in 2019, ahead of a planned filming start in late 2019 or early 2020

About Death and the Kings Horseman Play by Wole Soyinka

Death and the King’s Horseman is a play by Wole Soyinka based on a real incident that took place in Nigeria during the colonial era: the horseman of a Yoruba King was prevented from committing ritual suicide by the colonial authorities.

In addition to the intervention of the colonial authorities, Soyinka calls the horseman’s own conviction toward suicide into question, posing a problem that throws off the community’s balance.

Soyinka wrote the play in Cambridge, where he was a fellow at Churchill College during his political exile from Nigeria.

He has also written a preface to the play, explaining what he sees as the greatest misconceptions in understanding it. In particular, he says that the play should not be considered as “clash of cultures.”

Rather, the play demonstrates the need for interaction between African and European cultures, as per Soyinka’s post-Biafra cultural philosophy

In the play, the result for the community is catastrophic, as the breaking of the ritual means the disruption of the cosmic order of the universe and thus the well-being and future of the collectivity is in doubt. The community blames Elesin as much as Pilkings, accusing him of being too attached to the earth to fulfil his spiritual obligations.

Events lead to tragedy when Elesin’s son, Olunde, who has returned to Nigeria from studying medicine in Europe, takes on the responsibility of his father and commits ritual suicide in his place so as to restore the honour of his family and the order of the universe.

Consequently, Elesin kills himself, condemning his soul to a degraded existence in the next world. In addition, the dialogue of the native suggests that this may have been insufficient and that the world is now “adrift in the void”.

Another Nigerian playwright, Duro Ladipo, had already written a play in the Yoruba language based on this incident, called Oba waja (“The King is Dead”).

Background of Elesin Oba Movie

Elesin Oba The kings Horseman Movie builds upon the true story on which Soyinka based the play, to focus on the character of Elesin, the King’s Horseman of the title.

According to some Yoruba traditions, the death of the king must be followed by the ritual suicide of the king’s horseman as well as the king’s dog and horse, because the horseman’s spirit is essential to helping the King’s spirit ascend to the afterlife. Otherwise, the king’s spirit will wander the earth and bring harm to his people.

The first half of the play documents the process of this ritual, with the potent, life-loving figure Elesin living out his final day in celebration before the ritual process begins. Brotherhood Nigerian Movie 2022: All you need to Know

Here is all you need to know about Brotherhood Nigerian Movie showing in cinemas with a run date of Friday, September 23, 2022.

About Brotherhood Movie

Brotherhood Nigerian Movie centers on two twin brothers- Wale (Character played by Falz; Folarin Falana) and Akin (Character played by Tobi Bakre). These brothers became orphans at a young age when their parents were killed on New Year’s Day.

Their parents were making their way home from the traditional crossover service that had been held in church.

Since they are now orphans, Brotherhood Nigerian Movie sees Wale and Akin on the streets of Lagos, with the sole purpose of survival.

They would later make a life for themselves, but it appears it may not be a really great one for one of them. In Brotherhood movie, Wale (Character played by Falz) joins the police force while Akin (Character played by Tobi Bakre) becomes a hardened criminal who joins a gang of robbers.

Things go awry when Wale is put on the task force that would hunt his brother and the gang of robbers down.

This is where the title of Brotherhood movie comes from. The bond between both brothers is tested as they have to go against each other.

Filming

The Director of Brotherhood Nigerian movie is Loukman Ali. Loukman Ali is an Ugandan filmmaker who is making his Nigerian Directorial Debut with Brotherhood movie.

Loukman Ali has a couple of films he has directed inclusive of: The Girl in the Yellow Jumper, The Blind Date and The Bad Mexican..

I’m elated to be making Brotherhood and working with Jade Osiberu who’s proven to be one of the most audacious filmmakers on the continent. I hope this film opens up doors for more partnerships between African filmmakers.

This is the beginning of many firsts for African cinema. We are taking risks and hope to excel. The Nigerian audience and Africans at large should expect a Nollywood high stakes crime-action thriller like never before.

Brotherhood Nigerian movie

However, it appears Loukman Ali would not be taking credit as the Director of Brotherhood Nigerian Film as he departed the filming due to “creative differences” with Greoh studios- the production studio for the movie.

Brotherhood movie is produced by Jade Osiberu who also wrote the film alongside Abdul Tijani Ahmed.

The movie premiered in 12 Countries: Cameroon, Nigeria, Benin Republic, Congo, Rwanda, Gabon, Guinea, Niger Republic, Senegal, Cameroon, and Burkina Faso.

Box Office Projections

Brotherhood Nigerian Movie, according to Jade Osiberu- the writer, is projected to hit a Billion Naira (#1B) at the box office. But this may not be entirely accurate.

Based on projections, Brotherhood movie may not exceed the #400M mark. The reasons are not far-fetched.

The storyline is awfully reminiscent of Funke Akindele’s Omo Ghetto The Saga and its prequel- Omo Ghetto.

Despite the abundance of action, costume and Funke Akindele’s popularity, the movie had a box office domestic gross of about #750M, and this was even because it was released around a festive period like Christmas.

Now, Brotherhood 2022 Movie is definitely an action movie that looks like a lot of work, choreography an talented actors have been put in it, but it appears the storyline is not original enough to make it push a whole #1B at the domestic box office.

Brotherhood nigerian movie 2022

Even Kemi Adetiba’s King of Boys, with its sheer originality and action, grossed #300M. Although the argument was that it was three hours long.

Still, the argument stands that Brotherhood 2022 Nigerian movie that does appear to make a whooping #1B at the Nigerian Box office.

If what Jade Osiberu means is that Brotherhood 2022 Movie will gross a total of #1B internationally and nationally. She may not be wrong since the movie premiered in 15 countries. But in Nigeria alone?

But then again, who can tell? We’ll be here to report if it does.
