“All I ever wanted” lyrics Asa ft Amaarae
Sho ti gbagbe sho to gbagbe ni
The way we were
The way we were before now
Get your head on tight
Oh I warn you
Se wo ni kan lâolorun da ni
Ooti e mo ju ra ra
Get your head on tight
Oh I warn you
All I ever wanted was to make you mine
(Make you mine)
All I want to know is that you got my back
(Got my back)
Now all I want to know is who
All I want to know is what
All I want to know is pack your bag
(Pack your bag)
Baby Iâm letting you go
(Oh yo yo)
Thank you for the big show
(Oh yo yo)
All I ever wanted was to make you be my all
Till you fucked It up
Make me feel like say
Na me Dey on top
I be the only one
Sho ti gbagbe sho to gbagbe ni
The way we were
The way we were before now
Get your head on tight
Oh I warn you
The pussy is wet
Itâs on flood
My opponent is dead in the mud
My baby is ready for love
Eat the coochie out off in them slugs
All I ever wanted was drugs
And hotel sex at the Ritz
5 star diamond dick
Instead you all up in my business damn
(Damn)
I see u on on fire in dem jeans
Yeah you fly but clipping your wings
Used to be able to tell you things
Used to be able to sell you dreams
Used to be able to make you cream
Used to be able to (shut up bitch)
Now itâs done and itâs dusted
Found my tempo like Iâm DJ mustard
Two minutes turn my back
And you go now you back though
With a ho kissing on a bitch
Who the hell she though
Now you give me full speech
Now you con dey blame me
Say I never give ya
Give you all the attention
Oh yo yo
Thank you for the big show
Oh yo yo
All I ever wanted was to make you be my all
Till you fucked it all
Make me feel like say
Na me dey on top
I be the only one
Huh
All I ever wanted starts with some really cool Asa vibes and it’s simply mindblowimg! It is just simply amazing. Asa goes all in on “All I ever wanted” and it is simply one of the best songs off her V album.
All I ever wanted is about a girl reminding her lover of how close they used to be; how they used to love themselves so much despite everything.
She tries to gets very reminiscent with her lover, with the hope of them rekindling their love and getting her All she ever wanted.
Amaarae complements Asa’s verse so well. You could even mistake Asa for Amaarae if you can’t easily decipher between both artists. Their voices sound so identical and it gives All I ever wanted a blend.
This song is near perfection! The lyrics, the sound, the good girl gone bad vibes, the girl power vibes?
All I ever wanted is the best “getting over” someone song, because to some extent, Asa and Amaarae are singing about a guy they want to get over. They go all in on All I ever wanted.
Also, this song may relate well to ladies because All I ever wanted is an empowering song that makes you feel confident about what you want ,and also that you should never settle for less for any reason.
You should go after whatever you want no matter how you feel about the relationship because you realize that at the end of the day, what matters is your choice.
All I ever wanted is a big jam. Amaarae and Asa delivered ultimately. Big up to them both!

What we expected from Asa’s V album
Asa has announced her forthcoming studio album titled “V” and fans have been gushing over it since the tracklist was revealed yesterday.
Twitter has been agog with excitement since Asa announced the album, and the reason for this is not far-fetched. There are so many things to watch out for on Asa’s V album.
The release date for Asa’s V album was February 25th
We all know Asa is a leading legend now. Even though she doesnât release new music all the time and spends time touring or doing in-house concerts, she is credited for most of the hits that graced the Nigerian music industry some few years back.
Songs like âJailerâ, âEye Adabaâ and âEyoâ were praised for the songwriting, sound engineering and dynamic sounds Asa employed in them.
Her debut studio album âAsaâ– which was eponymous, saw her topping chats in France, Belgium, the United States, Nigeria and Germany. Her consequent studio albums; âBeautiful imperfectionâ (2010) and âBed of Stoneâ (2014) followed suit and fully established her as a genius in making music.

Although her last studio album âLucidâ (2019) did not have the critical acclaim her erstwhile albums had, it still garnered attention in Nigeria and topped some major streaming platforms.
5 things we expected on Asa’s V album
1) Collaborations
Asa has some very interesting features on her V album. People have been tweeting so many things since she unveiled the tracklist. Apparently, Asa’s V album features Wizkid, The Cavemen and Amaarae.
These artists have expressed so much fulfillment about being on Asa’s V album. For most of them, it is the highlight of their career. Imagine a Wizkid and Asa feature! History is about to be made.
We can’t wait for an Asa and Cavemen feature too! Asa sings rustic music and the Cavemen thrive on this genre of music too. It’s gonna be amazing! Ammarae and Asa on a song together is also very intriguing.
We know we are not going to be disappointed by these features because the songs on Asa’s V album are already hits before they get released.
2) Album Direction
From “Mayana” to “Ocean“, Asa has established a certain direction for her album that seems like the jaw-dropping songs she used to release back then. Asa’s V album is already set for success.
On “Mayana“, the title of the song appears funny, but apparently, itâs what she wants to be for the guy, she says:
âYou will be my foreverâŠIâll be your Mayanaâ
âWhat does Asaâs âMayanaâ mean?
Historically, âMayanaâ is of Hebrew origin and means âWell spring of lifeâ. By saying âIâll be your Mayanaâ, Asa may mean âIâll be your well spring of lifeâ. Although there are several views of what âMayanaâ means.
Most streamed Nigerian Artists on Apple Music 2022
Some claim itâs of South African origin, meaning âLucky youâ, another says itâs of African origin meaning âNice of youâ while others say it refers to the âfifth month- Mayâ.
The last meaning associated with âMayanaâ is that it means you have âpsychic powersâ.
However, of these many definitions, âWell spring of lifeâ appears to be the closest and most reasonable thing that approximates to what Asa means in her song âMayanaâ
The hook is amazing! Asa goesâŠ
âNothing but our love,
Nothing but our love,
Nothing but the smile on our face cos we know sayâŠâ
Asa also successfully establishes the image of hanging out and enjoying life with her lover in an island. âFish and Bananaâ is probably her âchillingâ snack as she says she wants plenty âFish and Bananaâ. It might even be her loverâs best food/snack.
Hot: Skiibii âBaddest boyâ ft Davido: What does the song need? {Review}
âMayanaâ is sweet enough and this sweetness is even made sustained because the song has enough lyrics that are repeated enough to stick with the listener. It also made sense that the song ended short. It makes the listener want to listen to it repeatedly.
Kudos to Asa on this song.
âMayanaâ is a good love song because it has some authenticity and dynamism of Asaâs songwriting. It doesnât sound at all like the kind of common romantic song you hear blasting in the speakers.
It sounds like music written and performed by a veteran. It is devoid of needless lyrics and the sound just pampers the music so much that it gives the song a danceable tune but still makes it retain its romantic tune.
3) Classic Alternative music
In Nigeria, and most African and European countries, Asa has been the Queen of Alternative music.
By alternative music, we mean that she sings a genre of music distinct from mainstream or contemporary music. It has a different reminiscent tune.
Something you don’t get to hear on most songs. Which is what we’ll get to hear on her V album
This is why Asa has always been described as a queen in her own lane. It doesn’t seem like she makes music specifically for streams or competition. She makes it because it is an expression of her art; her person.
With Asa’s V album, there should be high expectations of classic Alternative music.
4) Mixing and Production
Asa has never disappointed with her choice of producers on a song or an album, and we hope that her V album will be no exception. Asa’s V album will offer so much dynamic beats and sounds like never before.

5) Attention
Of course, expect so much attention on Asaâs V album. She has Wizkid and The Cavemen on the album for crying out loud, and Wizkid appears to be the hottest afrobeats artist right now.
So yes, from Asa’s V album, we expected interesting features like Wizkid, Amaarae and The Cavemen. Also expect Classic Alternative music and intriguing mixing and production.
