To Kill a Monkey (Plot Overview)
Letâs dive into the world of To Kill a Monkey cast and unpack how each character fuels this crime-thriller journey.
At the centre is Efemini (William Benson), a one-time handyperson whoâs down on his luck.
To Kill a Monkey introduces him as a desperate soul, fighting to stay afloat in Lagos while caring for his family and battling personal demons. He stumbles into cybercrime after reconnecting with Oboz (Bucci Franklin), an old friend with dangerous swagger. Just like that, To Kill a Monkey cast gives us contrasting personalities: the ethical struggler and the smooth but shady recruiter.
When Oboz opens doors into fraud rings masked by âmonkeyâ anonymity, Efemini finds himself torn between riches and whatâs right.
This uneasy partnership drives the main tension in the To Kill a Monkey, a dynamic built on loyalty, betrayal, and survival.
Meanwhile, Mo Ogunlesi (Bimbo Akintola) joins the mix, representing the law in this digital nightmare. To Kill a Monkey series positions her as a relentless Cybercrime Commission officer whose investigation gradually entangles both Efemini and Oboz. Her pursuit brings moral urgency to the plot and pushes Efe to question his choices.
The To Kill a Monkey cast also includes Stella Damasus as Nosa, Efeâs wife.
Through her, we glimpse the emotional fallout of his descent into fraud. Her fear and heartbreak ground the thriller in real human stakes. Add Chidi Mokeme as the fixer who connects shady deals behind the scenes, and To Kill a Monkey series becomes rich with corruption and moral compromise.
Lilian Afegbai, Sunshine Rosman, Michael O.âŻEjoor, Ireti Doyle, and Teniola Aladese round out the To Kill a Monkey cast with their own roles. Some pull strings within the crime ring, while others serve as emotional or legal checkpoints. Together, they weave a web of relationships that spread the consequences of Efeminiâs fateful decisions far beyond him.
By episode eight, Lagos isnât just a setting. It becomes a silent character inhabited by every member of the To Kill a Monkey cast. Their stories converge in a final reckoning that explores justice, choices, greed, redemption, and the cost of wearing a âmonkey mask.â
