Is Netflix’ Obliterated Worth Watching?
Netflix recently released a new action-packed series that has snagged itself a Top Ten Position in the Netflix Series Chart. But is the show worth watching? Let’s find out.
Is Obliterated Series Worth Watching?
- Plot
- Characterization
- Writing
Plot
Obliterated has pretty much your average action series plot- a group of United States Military Task Force set to retrieve a nuclear bomb from high-handed terrorists in Las Vegas. However, there is something about the plot that interests us. The series starts with the success of the team in retrieving the said nuclear weapon, and then we begin to wonder what will happen in the rest of the episodes.
The task force get drunk and eat edibles after the success of their mission, basically doing drugs in all the letters, only to realize that the nuclear weapon they retrieved, is indeed fake.
The team has to rally round from their drug-induced illusion and go on a wild mission of getting the nuclear weapon back.
While the plot itself is actually nothing special or jaw-breaking, its arrangement is top-notch. It doesn’t try to be ambitious as an action series, but also tries to be actually entertaining and satisfying. It’s more of an adventure packed series than it is an action one. Based on plot, Netflix’ Obliterated series is actually worth watching
Characterization: Is Obliterated Series Worth Watching?
The characters in Netflix’ Obliterated are definitely worth rooting for. The boss of the task force- a ridiculously hot and smart woman, has sex with a guy on the team who everyone literally wants to have sex with. It’s only then they realize that they might have deeper feelings than just having sex, then they begin to taunt each other.
The noteworthy thing is that the show does not try and force the chemistry between this two, it leaves that observation to the viewers. We are indeed invested in a few of the characters and for their journeys, and for this, Netflix’ obliterated series is definitely worth watching.
Writing
It would seem that less intention is paid to the writing of the series in comparison to the storyline itself. Although there are few times when we actually enjoy the dialogues of the characters, still, so much could have been done to make the writing way better than it is. If anything, the chemistry of the characters and the juice of the plot sustains the series, and not really the writing.
Is Netflix’ Obliterated Series worth watching?
Our Verdict: Stream this show. Yes, Netflix’ Obliterated series is worth watching because it is actually surprisingly entertaining, and could make for a good comedic and action-packed binge
