Is the summer I turned pretty worth watching?
This Amazon Prime Series has gotten really popular since it premiered. But is The Summer I Turned Pretty really worth watching? Here is our critical review
This article will examine if The Summer I Turned Pretty is Worth Watching on 4 major criteria:
- Plot
- Storytelling
- Character Development
- Enjoyability
On Plot: is The Summer I Turned Pretty worth watching?
Based on plot, Season 1 proved that The Summer I Turned Pretty is worth watching. The plot follows a young beautiful lady who becomes engulfed in the world of two brothers who used to be just her friends but now have romantic interest in her. She loves one and really likes the other. It makes for a really interesting watch. Although the plot of season two is just majorly feeding off that of Season 1, it still manages to pull some of our interest in bringing up another will-they wonât-they scenario.
Storytelling
Based on Storytelling, the Summer I Turned Pretty is worth watching. It doesnât try to create an unnecessary suspense where there isnât one. And it brings the viewers in on what is going on, making them know exactly as much as they should know and not just what they want the viewers to know, leaving them to solve the puzzles.
The storytelling is pretty straightforward, and Season 2 gets even better in terms of storytelling because of the perfect way the plot ties the past events to the present ones. Honestly, itâs all just like revealing the contents of a tiny box.
Is âFatal Seductionâ Worth Watching? Our Verdict
On Character Development: is The Summer I Turned Pretty worth watching?
Based on Character Development, The Summer I Turned Pretty doesnât get an âAâ. Maybe because the show is not about the development of the characters themselves but about the events that revolves around them/happens to them. Most of what happens to the characters in Season 1 happens again in Season 2. They have a hope that there will be a change in things but it doesnât seem like thereâs much development going on for any of them.
On Enjoyability: is The Summer I Turned Pretty worth watching?
Based on enjoyability, The Summer I Turned Pretty is definitely worth watching. Teens would even enjoy the show much more because it has an even better plot than popular romance movies like The Kissing Booth. The series has its âbombastic side-eyes momentsâ but itâs definitely binge-worthy
Finally, is The Summer I Turned Pretty worth watching?
Verdict: If you like romantic teen series with a realistic storyline, the show is perfect for you. Adults may find some of it a little bit corny but thereâs always something to take from each season. The show benefits from not trying to be a groundbreaking teen series, so there is the absence of that over-the-top teen melodrama
