Grammy 2023 Predictions Song of the Year
Here is Grammy 2023 Predictions for Song of the Year brought to you by The Scoove Africa. Our Predictions are based on a collation of research of songs that have had the greatest impact on the world since their release, with reference to the United States/United Kingdom.
Grammy 2023 Predictions Song of the Year
- Lizzo “About Damn Time”
- Future “Wait for You”
- Adele “Easy on Me”
- Beyoncé “Break my Soul”
- Harry Styles “As it Was”
Of course, the list of nominees is going to be longer than this but we are narrowing it down to songs that have the greatest chances of winning. Here is the Grammy 2023 predictions Song of the year with prediction percentages and why.
1) “Wait for You” Future ft. Drake, Tems
Wait for you debuted on top the Billboard Hot 100 and the song made a lot of impact when it was released. It made Nigerian singer- Tems, the first African act to have a song debut on top the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Besides, the core of the song- the chorus, was a complete sampling of her song “Higher”.
But “Wait for you” is not as impactful as the other songs for Song of the Year nominations at the 2023 Grammys.
Apart from that, it would take a lot of surprise and unexplained decisions for the Grammys to decide to go with the choice “Wait for You” as the Song of The Year. But then again, it really could happen.
Our Grammy 2023 Predictions for Song of the Year shows that Future’s Wait for You has a 65% chance of winning the award.
2) “About Damn Time” Lizzo
“About Damn Time”, like most of the major nominations for Song of the Year at the 2023 Grammys, charted on top the Billboard Hot 100 and has stayed consistently within the top 5 since its release.
This is not a criteria but it’s worth it.
While Lizzo’s Bop song is actually impactful, it doesn’t have the makings of what can win the Song of The Year award at the 2023 Grammys.
If there were less fierce songs that it competes with, it would have a chance, and that’s even under probability.
Based on our Grammy 2023 Predictions for Song of the Year, Lizzo’s About Damn Time has a 60% chance of winning the award.
3) “Break my Soul” Beyoncé
This is not the first time Beyoncé would be nominated in a major category. In fact, the singer has more nominations in Lead categories because of how significant her works are.
However, it would seem that she is always being nominated out of respect for her work and not really with the intention of giving the singer the award.
It is therefore not surprising that the recording academy have always decided to “pacify” her with wins like “Best Urban Contemporary Album” “Best Music Video” and “Best R&B performance”.
Meanwhile, this year, there is no music video to nominate her for, at least, not yet, so it might be tighter for the Grammys considering that Break My Soul made a lot of impact upon its release.
Of all the songs in this category, it doesn’t have a music video, and it spent only 2 weeks at Number one on the Billboard Hot 100, but it contains more Song of the Year material than most songs in the category.
Afterall, the Grammy did say the Song of The Year category would be to:
…honor artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the recording industry, without regard to album sales or chart position.
Our Grammy 2023 Predictions Song of the Year shows Beyoncé’s Break my Soul has a 75% chance of winning the award.
2) “Easy on Me” Adele
Adele’s “Easy on me” was released to success, but we have to agree that the great impact the song made still pales in comparison to other songs that have been nominated in the category.
The reason may be that the song was released in early 2022 and the fact that new songs came up that made it sound like it was a hit that happened when it was really needed.
Not to take anything away from the power of the song, it has a huge chance of winning the Song of the Year at the 2023 Grammys.
But the chances are slimmer with Beyoncé’s Break my Soul and Harry Styles’ “As it was” in the same category.
Our Grammy 2023 Predictions Song of the Year shows Adele’s Easy on Me has an 80% chance of winning the award.
If it wins, it definitely won’t be contested as the song is deserving.
2023 Grammys Album of the Year {AOTY} predictions
1) “As it Was” Harry Styles
Let’s be real with ourselves, 2023 Grammys feel like it’s going to be for Harry Styles. The man has had the most commercially successful Album of 2022 and one of the best Lead singles ever.
“As it was” has been so successful upon release even though it was released in early 2022. The song is still making waves and racking more commercial success till now.
Based on our Grammy 2023 Predictions for Song of the Year, Harry Styles has a 90% chance of winning the award.
The truth is that the song is deserving to be awarded the Song of the Year at the 2023 Grammys, and literally everyone would agree with that. You don’t get to hear a song like that in years.
And while ‘Break my Soul” “Easy on Me” and “About Damn Time” are incredible records, they don’t match the power that “As it was” has.
Still, a win that doesn’t go to Harry Styles in this category would be understandable.
