How Anikulapo got his power
Kunle Afolayanâs Anikulapo Movie starts with the story of Anikulapo before he became a man that could resurrect from the dead.
Anikulapo was a simple craftsman who fell in love with the kingâs wife. He was unsure what she wanted. But he was certain he loved her.
However, Anikulapo Netflix Movie follows how the king found out about the affair and ordered the death of the simple craftsman. Upon his death, Anikulapo encountered a bird- Akala, in the other world who promised to give him another chance.
This particular chance involved him not dying again and having the power to resurrect. That was how Anikulapo got his power.

The unique mystical folklore drama âAnikulapo,â which was included in the Netflix multi-title agreement with Kunle Afolayan, centers on the life of Saro, a young enthusiastic man looking for better opportunities in the vast Oyo Kingdom.
But as things went on, he had an extramarital relationship with the kingâs wife, Arolake, which resulted in his early death and a chance encounter with the fabled Akala, a bird thought to both give and steal life.

This has caused a lot of stir and excitement among fans, at the thought of having a Nigerian movie fashioned after âGame of Thronesâ
Although there are comments that indicate that since it is a movie and not a series, capturing the whole idea might be hard for Kunle Afolayanâs latest movie- Anikulapo.

I really feel like there should be more to Anikulapo’s story. There should be a reason he left gbogan to Oyomesi ( aside that his parent sending him to their debtors ) How did he get his freedom and why does he have to leave to Oyo. Its obvious he likes woman and he probably didn’t just like women suddenly, maybe something must have happened. Its a great movie though, kudos to the writer and producers of the movie
