Ruger and Buju BNXN Beef | The Timeline

Ruger and Buju BNXN Beef | The Timeline

What is Ruger and Buju BNXN beefing about exactly? The Timeline

If you have been a good “Twitter resident”, or as we like to call it, a diligent tweep, you would know that Ruger and Buju BNXN have had no love lost between themselves. Even Twitter trolls cannot separate them. But the big question is, what is Ruger and Buju BNXN beefing about?

What Ruger and Buju BNXN are beefing about

It always starts with music. Industry beefs are almost always not personal.

Ruger and Buju BNXN Beef Part 1

Ruger and Buju BNXN beef originally started when Ruger replied a fan that he is a better singer than BNXN.

Their counterparts did not take such declarative insinuation with smiles.

Omah Lay took to his Twitter account saying that it was rude for Ruger to say something like that considering that Buju has more global hits than Ruger has, and that they’re both contemporaries and such comparison was highly unnecessary.

Meanwhile, Buju BNXN remained silent for a while before posting that he loved making music and he hated feuds, but he would definitely not sit around and listen to another artist like him profess that he is better than him.

At this stage, it seemed Buju was trying to avoid a beef with his fellow artist by saying the comparison and “better than you” insults were unnecessary.

This was how the Ruger and Buju BNXN beef started, way back in the middle of 2022.

Ruger and Buju BNXN Beef Part 2

What Ruger and Buju BNXN are beefing about continued when Buju BNXN released his long-awaited Ep “Bad Since ‘97” and shared a screenshot of the project doing well on streaming charts. But not only did he share the screenshot, he added “What if I? What if I, What if I coooook?”

What is ruger and bnxn beefing about

This was a popular glib that Ruger used in his hit song “Girlfriend” when he says “What if I?” and mostly “Cooook that thing!” It was apparent it was targeted at Ruger and was a means of refueling the Ruger and Buju BNXN beef.

Furthermore, he added “Project number 1, and I didn’t have to whine waist”. This was Buju BNXN taking a shot at Ruger whose new dance routine for his hit song “Girlfriend” involved shaking his waist to the pleasure of his fans.

Meanwhile, Buju BNXN was not done, he further stated in a tweet with an added screenshot “From the Pandemid project and the second shave”.

This was a mockery play on words of Ruger’s Eps “The Second Wave” and ‘The Pandemic” which were charting at Number 33 and Number 164 at that time in comparison to Buju BNXN’s number one EP.

To this, Ruger replied, “Get a solo hit then talk to me fatty bum bum”

It would appear the Ruger and BUJU BNXN beef was already heated at this stage because they traded insults vicariously at one another using their insecurities.

Ruger and BUJU BNXN Beef part 3

What Ruger and Buju BNXN are beefing about at this point, was unspoken, and was majorly done by their fans.

It was around the announcement of the 2022 Headies Award nominations when both artists were put against each other in the most coveted category of “Next Rated Award”, which is almost synonymous to the Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

Twitter Tweeps took to their various accounts to express that either Buju or Ruger would go home with the award. This nomination further spurred the beef between Buju BNXN and Ruger

Ruger and Buju BNXN Beef Part 4 (Most Recent)

The fourth part that entails what Ruger and Buju BNXN are beefing about happened recently and started around November 23, 2022 when Buju stated that Ruger was biting the fingers that fed him.

He further called the artist out by saying that he hasn’t sold out anywhere. Not Muri Okunola Park, Balmoral or not even Eko Hotels. To this, Ruger responded with two tweets. The first was to ask Buju BNXN to list five of his solo hit songs.

What is happening between Ruger and Bnxn

This may be based on the fact that most of Buju BNXN’s hit songs are collaborations with other artists. Examples like Finesse, Hustle, and Mood. For Ruger, he hints that he has solo hit songs like Snapchat, Dior, Girlfriend, Bounce and recently, Asiwaju.

Ruger also adds that Buju BNXN crams his songs in people’s ears on TikTok so they could become hit songs.

It seems the Ruger and Buju BNXN beef might be a never ending one.

Wizkid “More Love Less Ego” Album Review: Hits and Misses

Wizkid “More Love Less Ego” Album Review: Hits and Misses

Wizkid More Love Less Ego Album Review

Here is a review of More Love Less Ego brought to you by The Scoove Africa

More Love Less Ego review

Wizkid’s More Love Less Ego thrives on Wizkid’s soulful and impressive delivery combined with his vocals which makes the songs so musical. Meanwhile, the lack of creativity on the album and the absence of diversity in song themes is a far shot from the artistic development expected from Wikzid’s Fifth Studio album.

Wizkid is a legend in music, but even legends have to remind us why they are greats, and More Love Less Ego doesn’t mark any change or departure from tracks on Made in Lagos. It might as well be that the songs that didn’t make Made in Lagos were put on More Love Less Ego. Still, there are some nods…

Wizkid More Love Less Ego Album Review

As an album opener Money and Love provides an insight into what Wizkid’s album will basically be about. The song is actually almost better lyrically than Bad to me, but the fact that it sounds so much better instrumentally is another plus.

Money and Love also sounds like a jam. A real jam that you could listen to in your car just to chill or listen to anywhere for that matter. There are songs that are better than Money and Love, but, based on More Love Less Ego review, that doesn’t take away from the song’s sheer musicality.

On “Balance”, Wizkid comes with impressive lyricism that stands out and we can’t but say that we are enjoying the album already.

The song theme of Balance is definitely not different, but the lyrics are more “not so common”. This song sounds like one of those old R&B 2000s songs with a spice of pop and dancehall. The infuse of “Balance” in the song makes the song a top notch pick on More Love Less Ego review

Bad to me” was received with mixed responses because of the lyricism and the fact that the song was a far shot from what was expected from Wizkid’s first single in a long time.

The song is a cool listen, but it shouldn’t have been the lead single of More Love Less ego based on the album review and the fact that there are definitely better songs on the album that would have promoted the album well.

Track-list

More Love Less Ego album review shows that Wikzid and Ayra Starr definitely came through on 2 Sugar. True, it may not sound like it’s the best track off this album, and we were actually expecting a love/romantic track between them, but the song is awesome nevertheless.

There is no forced delivery or the need to over impress. 2 sugar is an amazing listen!

Everyday” should have been the album opener of More Love Less Ego for obvious reasons. It speaks to the theme more than most of the songs on the album. Nevertheless, by the time this song starts, we are excited that Wizkid has not done a bad job so far.

The Best 2022 Nigerian Albums so far {Ranked}

In fact, the replay value of this album sounds really good because there have been amazing songs so far and the ones that are not amazing are definitely okay listens.

More Love Less Ego album review shows that Everyday is a relatable track that Wikzid is trying to say he understands other people’s pains and challenges and he shares them, understands them and prays for everybody while being grateful for what he has.

Skillibeng should have never opened Slip N Slide. Wizkid could have been a better fit because Skillibeng almost would make you go to the next track.

But we can’t because Shenseea is on this track and like we expected, she delivered.

In fact, More Love Less Ego review implies that Skillibeng should have never made this track because Wizkid and Shenseea alone killed this track and it would have been an amazing listen nevertheless.

Don’t get it wrong, Deep is not a bad song, but we are hoping for a diversity in theme or at least, a little dancehall that could spice the album up.

Deep is an okay song that could actually be a hit. But there is nothing unique about this track at all and the lyrics sound all too familiar.

Flower Pads sounds like what we have been waiting for because of the title of the song. But we hear “Ikebe Super” and we definitely are getting tired of that phrase because everything can’ be about that.

Honestly, you might not want to listen to this track completely based on More Love Less Ego album review, but Wizkid tries to save this track with his interpolations of the words he sprinkles “Baby wraps your leg around me, Girl I go really make you wait”.

See Wizkid’s “More Love Less Ego” Tracklist!

Apart from that, Flower Pads could have been made way better and even sounds like what could have been a lead single if it had been better written and better arranged.

This is what we are talking about!

This song has some glibs that make it sound so catchy. Naira Marley opening Wow makes it sound like a hit already, especially with his soft voice and the way he indicates that he wants to have sexual relations with the lady.

He then interpolates the song with that intro and it’s just perfect throughout the song.

Skepta? He always makes a hit with Wizkid. I mean, there is Bad Energy. Then, his rap on this song is just dope. It complements Naira Marley so much.

Wizkid More Love Less Ego review

Wizkid is the balance between their verses and it blends to make the song sound like a really good listen

Based on Wizkid More Love Less Ego album review, Wow is definitely one of the top 5 tracks.

Pressure” and “Deep Loving” are no-no. They shouldn’t have made More Love Less Ego album, and yes, they make the album sound boring after we hear a hit track like Wow featuring Skepta and Naira Marley.

The instrumentality on Special featuring Don Toliver is the only thing that makes the song special. When you have someone like Don Toliver on a song, you want to make sure that you make the most of it, but Special doesn’t cut it. No, it doesn’t.

More Love Less Ego album review indicates that as an album closer, Frames is not an outstanding track, and it sounds like no particular attention was paid to make it an exceptional track.
