Relatability

This song is so relatable you always want to put it on.

The fact that he acknowledges that he has come this far because of Oil God has put in his head says a lot about his growth and how he knows the source of his talents and blessings.

This is how an African person would easily attribute their success.

Black Sherif Oil in my head lyrics

We all find ourselves in such situations that makes us discover that if God had not been there for us, we would have failed woefully because people can never be depended upon like God.

It also reminds us that we should never put our trust in other people 100% because they are meant to be fallible. They can never be trusted to catch you when you fall, and there are pointers everywhere.

“Brotherhood” Nigerian Movie 2022: All you need to know

Brotherhood Nigerian Movie 2022: All you need to Know

Here is all you need to know about Brotherhood Nigerian Movie showing in cinemas with a run date of Friday, September 23, 2022.

About Brotherhood Movie

Brotherhood Nigerian Movie centers on two twin brothers- Wale (Character played by Falz; Folarin Falana) and Akin (Character played by Tobi Bakre). These brothers became orphans at a young age when their parents were killed on New Year’s Day.

Their parents were making their way home from the traditional crossover service that had been held in church.

Since they are now orphans, Brotherhood Nigerian Movie sees Wale and Akin on the streets of Lagos, with the sole purpose of survival.

They would later make a life for themselves, but it appears it may not be a really great one for one of them. In Brotherhood movie, Wale (Character played by Falz) joins the police force while Akin (Character played by Tobi Bakre) becomes a hardened criminal who joins a gang of robbers.

Things go awry when Wale is put on the task force that would hunt his brother and the gang of robbers down.

This is where the title of Brotherhood movie comes from. The bond between both brothers is tested as they have to go against each other.

Filming

The Director of Brotherhood Nigerian movie is Loukman Ali. Loukman Ali is an Ugandan filmmaker who is making his Nigerian Directorial Debut with Brotherhood movie.

Loukman Ali has a couple of films he has directed inclusive of: The Girl in the Yellow Jumper, The Blind Date and The Bad Mexican..

I’m elated to be making Brotherhood and working with Jade Osiberu who’s proven to be one of the most audacious filmmakers on the continent. I hope this film opens up doors for more partnerships between African filmmakers.

This is the beginning of many firsts for African cinema. We are taking risks and hope to excel. The Nigerian audience and Africans at large should expect a Nollywood high stakes crime-action thriller like never before.

Brotherhood Nigerian movie

However, it appears Loukman Ali would not be taking credit as the Director of Brotherhood Nigerian Film as he departed the filming due to “creative differences” with Greoh studios- the production studio for the movie.

Brotherhood movie is produced by Jade Osiberu who also wrote the film alongside Abdul Tijani Ahmed.

The movie premiered in 12 Countries: Cameroon, Nigeria, Benin Republic, Congo, Rwanda, Gabon, Guinea, Niger Republic, Senegal, Cameroon, and Burkina Faso.

Box Office Projections

Brotherhood Nigerian Movie, according to Jade Osiberu- the writer, is projected to hit a Billion Naira (#1B) at the box office. But this may not be entirely accurate.

Based on projections, Brotherhood movie may not exceed the #400M mark. The reasons are not far-fetched.

The storyline is awfully reminiscent of Funke Akindele’s Omo Ghetto The Saga and its prequel- Omo Ghetto.

Despite the abundance of action, costume and Funke Akindele’s popularity, the movie had a box office domestic gross of about #750M, and this was even because it was released around a festive period like Christmas.

Now, Brotherhood 2022 Movie is definitely an action movie that looks like a lot of work, choreography an talented actors have been put in it, but it appears the storyline is not original enough to make it push a whole #1B at the domestic box office.

Brotherhood nigerian movie 2022

Even Kemi Adetiba’s King of Boys, with its sheer originality and action, grossed #300M. Although the argument was that it was three hours long.

Still, the argument stands that Brotherhood 2022 Nigerian movie that does appear to make a whooping #1B at the Nigerian Box office.

If what Jade Osiberu means is that Brotherhood 2022 Movie will gross a total of #1B internationally and nationally. She may not be wrong since the movie premiered in 15 countries. But in Nigeria alone?

But then again, who can tell? We’ll be here to report if it does.

“Nzaza” Meaning in English {Explained}

Top 100 Apple Music Nigeria Today | Top 10 Chart

Lyricism

Black Sherif Soja Lyrics implies a situation where Black Sherif is battling with his own anxiety and inferiority complex because he faces a situation much greater than he can handle.

That situation is himself. Yes, it sounds crazy. But Soja lyrics by Black Sherif points to how there are so many things that his mind feeds on that at the end of the day, he is left staring at so much emptiness.

According to Black Sherif, this emptiness is able to make any man feel absolutely unworthy regardless of how highly they think of themselves before.

Also, Soja Lyrics by Black Sherif, at the beginning, states that there is a mystery box inside of him that he can’t explain- hence the mystery.

Black sherif soja lyrics

Black Sherif

This particular mystery box juices him up and makes him feel weird, but the kind of weird that makes you feel good.

Meanwhile, Black Sherif Soja lyrics implies that while he feels good inside, he feels much more terrible outside because of his own personal convictions.

There is so much his body outside is battling with that it stops the work of the mystery box inside.

This is a situation of “feeling good inside but feeling shitty outside”. No matter how hard he tries, Black Sherif Soja Lyrics implies that he can’t make the mystery box in him make him feel good on the outside.

Meanwhile, Soja Lyrics jumps to another part where we see that the song is majorly about standing upright and being on the watch no matter the hard things you are going through. People don’t need to know that, because once they do, you are caught off guard and they can throw anything at you.

This is why Black Sherif refers to himself as a Soja who must stand up, beat his chest and prevent any form of physical or emotional attack against him.

He even proves that people will always come for you once they realize that you’ve lost your morale.

He therefore cites the example of his brother (perhaps a friend) whose spirits have been dampened and has therefore been buried by the cold streets (people who run the streets) because he lost the power of his spirit.

Black Sherif is a song about internal and external conflict/struggles that human beings face within and outside themselves which makes them feel really insecure about themselves

Delivery

Black Sherif has always been strong on song delivery because of how highly personal his songs are. It is therefore not surprising that his new song- Soja depicts how much of what he is feeling as articulately as possible.

Soja lyrics Black Sherif

We grab onto every lyric because there is so much to glean from the song based on the meaning portrayed in Soja.

Relatability

If there is something about Black Sherif’s Soja, it is the sheer Relatability. Literally everyone of us goes through the part where we find ourselves struggling based on the issues of anxiety, inferiority and insecurity because we don’t find ourselves enough or strong enough for the situations that challenge us.

However, this is a song of encouragement from Black Sherif. We should be our own Soja, and that’s it. Because if we don’t, we find ourselves staring down the barrel of a gun, waiting to be rescued.

Bayanni, The EP

The amazing thing is that Family seals Bayanni as a responsible person and this serves as a good EP Opener because it will encourage people to listen to the EP as many times as possible. Also, this EP Opener makes us see that Bayanni is a fresh voice.

True, he sounds like Boy Spyce vocally and lyrically, but he is still distinct in his own way.

Also, Family sounds like a hit record if it is made a social media trend.

The second track, Body, is meant to serve as the hit single of this EP, (possibly). But with the dancehall influence and catchy lyrics of Body, it still doesn’t sound like what should be a hit. But it could be a hit because of the catchy chorus.

Meanwhile, Family beats Body lyrically and musically as a record. The lyrics are far too common and it sounds like what we have heard a thousand times over by every male artist in the Nigerian music industry.

Ta Ta Ta sounds like what could be the hit song of Bayanni EP. There is a sprinkle of Love Nwantiti magic on this song that makes it sound like what people could get hooked on.

Especially when Bayanni starts with “I give her like Ta Ta Ta”. Ta Ta Ta is the best song so far and it makes this EP sound wholesome. It should be promoted as a single off this album. It would really do well on streaming platforms and set Bayanni up as a breakout star.

Kala is a cool record, and it has that street afrobeats vibe that people love listening to now. It doesn’t sound bad as the EP closer and it almost beats Body on this EP. The chorus is really good too.

Bayanni EP shows that Bayanni has a fresh voice that screams a lot of talent to yet unlock. But it sounds like Bayanni would need to evolve and discover his sound based on his amazing tunes so he doesn’t get undistinguishable among the plethora of upcoming Nigerian artists.
